I don't really get the logic behind saying "he's not the best Tennis player, but he's the only one we've got". They were pretty **** as well. Fair enough, yes, he's getting closer. If he wins one, make a big fuss, fair enough, he'll have deserved it. My point is that far too much is made about the guy. As for me wanting him to lose, I certainly don't.
he's like most scots, lacks the necessary mental fortitude to succeed at the highest level. shame, because he has the talent needed. maybe if he was english, welsh or irish then he'd have won one by now
If we're talking about people/teams who have done nothing yet get a big fuss made about them then look no further than the English National football team FFS during the world cup last year we had round the clock updates on what they were having for lunch and dinner
Yeah, even the most obsessed of football fans would agree that such behaviour by the media was unnecessary and a waste of both time and money. The BBC and ITV, as well as the national newspapers, turned into a sporting version of 'Closer' magazine.
To be honest I'm not really one of the 'ABE gang', England have good players and can be good to watch at times if they get it together but the way the media report about them sometimes makes it impossible to actually want England to do well for fear of what the media would do if England actually won something. Would be a joke
I don't even really care about England now. I've been excused of lacking patriotism, but my attitude towards the England team has come about almost solely because of the way in which they are covered by the country's media.
