I'm one of the people in charge of updating stuff/making things work, it's not fun...

Also everyone on here should never forget that Mick runs this place in his free time and makes a loss on it, so we need to be acceptant of some small glitches from time to time...

While not being a techno Toby, I don't quite see why Mick is running the site at a loss. Maybe you can give a bit more insight as to why he should do that. There were a whole number of sites that sprung up when the Beeb shut it's 606 site, all hoping I guess to make some money. Are you suggesting that there are too many sites for the amount of advertising, and just how likely is it that he will want to continue losing money?

It's all to do with hosting, he spends a lot of money getting the site hosted on reliable servers, and the database errors are due to some of the coding in the site. He's found the error now, you might have noticed the Likes/Dislikes have vanished at the moment, they were causing an issue. He had problems with Google's advertising service which is only recently fixed, but even when everything works he barely covers his costs.

Don't worry though, he's in it for the long run, he's happy with not606 <ok>

Morning all from a chilly Bandit Country. Busy morning ahead, Mrs W_Y and daughter are on their way to have their hair done and I have to pop to the butchers to order the Xmas meat and then get some drinking vouchers for later. I hope the wedding venue has got a good signal so that we can keep up with the scores.

On a different topic - looks like the annual "coming down hard on drink drivers" campaign in Scotland has made a big start!

Morning all. I've done something to my back. Two days ago it took me 20 minutes to get out of bed. Now it just hurts and I have to come down the stairs backwards. Still, it's getting better. Off to the physio this morning.

Sorry about the back NZ. Used to go through such pain myself at one time until I was able to leave the desk behind and do more physical things. Hope it is soon better. <ok>

Blimey dave - you get earlier every day. Did you put your clock forwards an hour instead of back? ;)

Sounds awful NZ - having been through that myself a few times, I can thoroughly recommend a hot water bottle on the offending area and a few painkillers (in the form of a good single malt).

On the bright side, it gets you out of tree decorating duty... :)

Since I was very ill a week or two back, I've struggled to reach 2100 hrs though I'm still waking at my old time of 0430 hrs so I am needing an extra hour's sleep! <ok>

Good morning all from a cold, overcast Weston-super-Mare!

    Have a good day! <ok>

NZ I know what back pain can do, I have a problem with the mussels of my sacroiliac. The anterior sacroiliac, iliolumbar and lumbosacral ligaments on my left side are weak from an injury I took picking up drawings in a cold place. I hope you feel better soon and do not get a cold, the cough will make your back worse.
