I was entertained v Forest v Leicester v Doncaster v Leeds that's 4 off the top of my head . It's the sack the manager stuff that saw the end of curbs .
Don't agree, Mike. Curbs turned down a new contract, and left the club to a wonderful reception, both at The Valley and at Old Trafford.
I had a lovely day out Christmas shopping and actually forgot (albeit for a few hours) how crap we are. Good managers change their teams to suit the opposition, but Powell does not do this at all. He gets a win and then sticks to the formula until it all goes tits up again. I actually arrived back from Germany a day early to watch yesterday's match, and I will never regret doing so, but some semblance of a performance would have cushioned the blow of such financial outlay. The talk of a new manager facing the same issues as Powell is a real moot point, but it is one I do not entirely concur with. For instance, a new manager may at least get the side functioning, and he may also introduce some innovation with regards to set-pieces, attacking dynamics and tactical decisions. I still love CP, and I always will, but the future of the club is more important than one man.
True but there were a lot of decenting voices at the time moaning expecting European football if we stay up this season that's an achievement for me middle table and I'd be elated.
Do you remember when we lost 1-0 to Stevenage, our first defeat in the League 1 title-winning campaign? Powell changed his side to cope with their physical threat by dropping Solly, moving Morrison to right back and playing Cort at centre back. He was criticised at the time (rightly) for being afraid of them, of not trusting in our own quality to beat them. I repeat, there was no reason to change the side from Tuesday.
There weren't many, just that they made a lot of noise. I think Curbs was more frustrated at his midfielders letting him down, like Parker, Murphy, Smertin, Ambrose & Rommedahl. Always loved Kish.
Switching Solly for Morro will always be a poor decision, Captain B. Despite Jacko's assist on Tuesday, it was clear his fitness and form were suffering. He should never have started yesterday.
Please read my earlier post. If we had changed the line up for Ipswich, the same people would be criticising CP as now. Either because we could have won by more or had lost because we can only speculate. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. None of us on here are as qualified or have as much professional experience as CP or Dyer or any other manager with badges to their name. As supporters the clue is in the name.......
I hope you don't mean the name "Dyer". Being wise after the event is a bore. But anyone who posts their choice of team on 'ere beforehand can say "I told you so" if applicable. I said that CP should play the same team as against Donny.
How pompous can you get? Supporters have the right to criticise whoever they choose, especially after such a disgraceful display. I do not need a coaching badge to recognise bullshit. It's not surprising Powell gets a such an easy ride.
Nominating that for quote of the year made me really laugh that...anyway, can get back to it now guys
**** me, you lot really are easily entertained. Sorry, SVC, but you are actually a scabby mule compared to my destrier.
That's me... easily please I'd get aggressive and have a moan there but... oo shiny.... *runs into the distance*
Am I the only one concerned about Kermorgant's performance? IMO he deserved to be subbed instead of Church, but I fully understood CP keeping him on, in case he produced something special. Any views on his contribution over the last 2 games?
