The journo is on MOTD2 and they have just made a mockery of AA with some truely excellent words from Phil Brown - top notch!
They're on about this whole situation on talksport now, hosts all agree we should protest before and after the game and only support the team at the game. Curtis Davies admitted its really distracting for the players and they thought it was all going to spill on to the pitch. That's that one to bed right from the horses mouth. It seems support is universal, fans from all over want the campaign to be successful. Everyone reckons Allams attitude is ludicrous.
This is exactly it, there's no argument or reason behind it, just an entrenched stance of undying support for Allam which won't change no matter what he does. He's proven them wrong time and time again but rather than admit to being wrong, which really wouldn't be all that bad, they desperately seek to find ways to defend his position, or attack someone else's and blame them that our owner is a dick.
But the players could care less what is happening in the stands? People need to realise that during the game, protesting doesn't work.
The football world is United against Allam now. Newcastle fans acknowledge he's as bad as, maybe even worse than, Mike Ashley. Even other clubs with mad owners seem to have sympathy for us. And yet a few still refuse to accept it.
I've just seen the BBC article on our board, you've got to do something about your idiot of an owner. Hull City should be about the supporters that have turned out every week season after season. Not about a foreign owner who's only interest is to make a quick buck out of a "brand".
Allams mad as a bag of cats, that's why I love him. Sadly our own fans are the target of his nuttiness this time, but should we all be able to move on from this whole fiasco, I think we'll benefit from his madness more than not. The whole NP to Leicester thing was fab, loved it. My way or the highway. It's exactly the kind of mentality small clubs like ours need to avoid being taken to te cleaners by te big bully boys of the football world.
I agree with people saying protests don't work during the game, but when are people meant to get there point across? I can't see .20,000 turning up to Allam Marine HQ to protests
Very good point, I get why there are protests at the game, as they gain the most exposure, which is the aim of a protest. But sometimes, somethings are more important, such as winning/getting points.
Having followed city for 48 seasons hoping one day we would have some success. We finally have some at long last. If the some supporters drive out someone who has played a huge part in bringing some success to the club. Best team ever....Best manager ever Then what's the point still turning up ? I'm just pleased to be sat here in the KC about to watch City v Liverpool after years of Rochdale Grimsby York Southport Lincoln etc etc. Of course if the Allams left....I will still go to city . Will just have to remember when we was a decent team . I reckon a lot of the loud shouting anti name changers will all sod off anyway if things go tits up Anyway....nearly kick off time. Enjoy watching on sky Ben
The fact of the matter is, a football club owner can exploit the intellectual properties associated with that club all he likes... But he should not be allowed to mess with or change them. Football isn't a business in the same sense as a normal company. The fans aren't just customers. I think modern owners are somewhat pioneers, going into uncharted territory regarding what they can and can't do. Changing team or ground names is a no-no.
What's your beef Filey? Is your age catching up with you? I'm presuming your whole post is aimed at me with your childlike dig at the end. What makes you believe the owners are being driven out & further more why, if they are, I'm part of it? Point to where I've been anything but respectful to our owners. You're getting mixed up old fella & not reading posts properly. You on the other hand presume every insult aimed at our owners is done on behalf if the CTWD group. Is your vision that blinkered? You post bollocks regarding the campaign group which you know not to be true, I guess pretending to believing the bollix sates your simplistic views on the situation. I'm not there today, because it's my lads birthday. Lunch at Frankie & Benny's, watch the game & drop him & his mates at the cinema, sorry if you think this makes me less of a supporter, but for the record I left Hull in 1987 & have put the motorway hours in from London & Cheshire over them years that, in my opinion, more than qualify me as a little more than an armchair fan. A little more time, effort & cost involved than hopping on the pensioner special from Filey. Not that I'd question your commitment as you do so freely of others. I'd suggest reading through the posts again, slowly & try to full understand the content. You may even spot prompts from others explaining your errors. Pro Allam, anti name change. Unlike others, my stance hasn't changed Love Ben xx
Met Filey today.Very nice man.I know we should all be anonymous on here but I realised we do stand out in the East stand. It is amazing the 2 fans of the Allams contribution should also be the 2 best looking(in the over 50 s)
Bruce's post-match interview on the beeb: Hull City manager Steve Bruce on protests against club owner Assem Allam: "I understand that it is about history and tradition but the one thing that we cannot allow is for it to fester and become an issue. "I think that because of what the owner said earlier in the day the atmosphere was terrific today, but I don't think that he did that deliberately! "I think that this club would not be here without the owner. It it has rumbled on but it has to come to happy conclusion. I am happy to speak to the owner and give him my opinion, but as I said earlier if he wants us to play in pink fairy dresses then he is entitled to that view."
