They're his words, nothing played with at all. He said saved the football club for the City of Hull and the people of East Yorkshire.
No serious or semi-serious investor would want to put money into an enterprise in which the man in charge is such a loose cannon and shows such crass judgement with his customers.
We are not in the position of Pompey. IMO the club is in its greatest ever position. I am suspicious of CTWD founders I fear that some of them where far happier when they were big fish in a small pond when we were crap and they could stand around the bar and acknowledge their status of die hard supporters. Now we have much bigger crowds they are just supporters like everyone else.Solution-lots of attention seeking and club in disarray.Ultimately club in meltdown.Supporters "own" the club and OLM and DMD get to be interviewed on Look North.Back to 4,000 crowds and them boring each other with tales of trips to Exeter AA the best owner ever. And yes I was there under HN
Crazy comment filled with weakness and awful self-loathing. Alllam would rather kill everyone then compromise his idea one iota. That is HIS fault. All the fans and CTWD have done is try to talk, and then quite out of the blue, he's been immensely insulting. How dare they even question him?? Welcome to 2013 Dr Allam, where people have freedoms and are all to aware of their right to free speech and free thought. Allam can't handle that, and he'd rather cut his nose right off than concede anything, which is utter craziness. Those who support him purely because they don't want to lose Premiership football are not football fans. It is that simple.
But ben has he threatened to run the club down? No. He's said he will leave. PLT boot suite etc and others want him to **** off, so if he does then..... I dont think he will he's rallying the silent majority. Any **** happens today and the fans will go to his side.
markkc, I'm not celebrating it isn't a victory, its a sad day for Hull City. We are really talking about increasing our income by about £20 million a year. A chairman that called all the boards/groups together as soon as we were promoted to plot a way of staying in the Premier League would have got a good response both in terms of enthusiasm and also cash. It would have been us against the world and we know after years of abuse from all over how that feels. He didn't he's said its his business he will do what he wants. It may be his business but its my club and he can't. He saved our club and has increasingly alienated his own supporters. I ask for what, the promise of some Chinese gold if we change the name, really, where's the evidence. When we were thinking about buying Shane Long why didn't they stomp up some money? We only needed a proven striker to consolidate our position in the league. Lastly, he is in his mid 70s and we owe him close to £100 million. On his death that debt passes to his family. The money would have be repaid eventually. We cannot continue to leave on credit, eventually the bill has to be paid. Haven't we learnt anything from Duffen and Bartlett? Before anybody asks, he saved Hull City, for that he deserves every penny he or his family get back, even now after the interview in the Independent.
And the day before yesterday he said something different. Why is he doing it? Depends when you look at it from. He saw an opportunity with the stadium complex. That can still happen if he negotiates. He wants to change the name, that could still happen if he negotiates. Why is he in it now? Because he can't get out without negotiating, and he can't negotiate or compromise because he'd have to accept he sometimes gets it wrong and he doesn't have ultimate authority.
Personally think it will be a sad day when we lose our club and we revert to being a 'Rugby City'. I have supported City since the 60's so will not be looking for a new club to support, just watch football on SKY, and watch our young supporters revert to buying replica shirts of Manure and Chelsea from Sports Direct. I dare say some posters on here will quietly put away their CTWD scarves, after demanding a Victory Parade from the Council, and dig our their old replica gear from old 1st Division clubs or their local teams. All will be revealed in January, when Bruce goes to Fulham and we become a major seller in the transfer window. I don't think this club can survive another 'great escape'. Well done lads, you must feel very proud of yourselves.
If you genuinely think that they would tell their boss about some insults they read about him on the internet you are even more stupid than the rest of your posts convey. Yes, people at the club will read these sites, but the contents will never get anywhere near him.
Again, how is it the fault of the fans? This is all his doing. He's caused all this. And stop being a tart. Nobody's revelling in "victory" over this.
We will lose our club the day the name changes. We will then become some new club with no history and a pariah among established clubs who will see us a laughing stock. Why not call us us Hull Tampax? Think of the marketing reach to 50% of the planet.....
He wants to change the name just on a whim. He has not come up with any sensible reason or research in his interviews. He does not want to negotiate with anyone. The only thing supporters have done is sing City till I Die. He is now telling us we are all hooligans that can die. How is it the fault of the supporters. Funny you mention a victory parade because that is another thing he denied the players and the fans.
All this from a man whose success came after he renamed his first business from one word, to two. Tempest became Allam Marine.
So you don't think he'll have people gathering the fans opinions together? You think they'd lie to him, or just not tell him the whole picture? He's probably come on some of the boards himself for a quick look. Customer feedback is a valuable asset to any business, you think as a businessman he'd just not bother looking into a huge public source of it that's open for any old bugger to read? Get your head out of the sand, don't be so thick.
I know he's not Chazz, but the drama queens do like to blow it up a little. If he walked he'd go against all he said regarding running the club as a business. If he sells, as a businessman, he'll want his asset to achieve maximum return for him.
If anything, Allam's latest outburst has raised the profile of the CTWD campaign and brought in support from elsewhere. @YordivL 19m @NoToHullTigers Support from Holland! AMF! Camilla ‏@Cilly247 34m @NoToHullTigers From one supporter (gooner) to another, you deserve better. Much better. Good luck guys! Stan Collymore ‏@StanCollymore 1h I support Hull City supporters groups 100% in the campaign to retain their name, identity and history. Mr Allam ,take note of the fans.NOW.
We won't lose our club because some of our debt is secured by Allam Marine and if we go they may well go as well. If Bruce goes it will because of what's happening internally at the club rather than City supporters handing out badges and sing City Till I Die. The club has simply run out of money, just as we did under Bartlett and Duffen. Instead of owing the banks £30 million we owe Assem Allam and his family £66 million. Eventually that debt will have to be repaid. When the bill becomes due we become a selling club whether we're called Hull City or Hull Tigers. The Premier League is big business and you need the cash to compete. Unfortunately we have run out and the only way he can see of plugging the gap is changing the name and going to Asia. No plan B, no rolling up of sleeves and working hard to increase our commercial revenue. No lets change our name and we'll get covered in money. No one at the club, including Ehab, have supported those statements. Its all he saved us let him do what he wants.
