Demba Ba DEFINITELY the better choice than Gameiro

  1. Sturridge wants to start games, and i doubt Chelsea will class Sturridge in the same league or worthy enough to be a partner for Torres, they'll sign 2 more strikers this summer and Sturridge will be on the bench.

We can offer him first team football and a good future.

He's the better choice considering he's free but it's not our money that's being spent.. Still need a better striker in my opinion.. Gameiro is a classy player, anyone who watches the French league will tell you that, pity he's not coming...

You say it's good we're not looking at people just because of their name, but what has Ba done? Look at the goals he's scored, they're not very hard. Don't get me wrong, a natural finisher is great to have in your squad but Gameiro is a natural finisher (hence his 1 in 2 record in one of the best leagues in the world) and a classy player all round

I think Chelsea have little patience with players who aren't the finished article... the new manager will want marquee names so Sturridge may be pushed further down the pecking order...
He's cocky but good as his cupped hand to the ear celebration towards the gallowgate this season showed...

#NUFC agreed terms with Demba Ba yesterday, just needs to pass his medical and he'll join Cabaye as our second signing.

I think Ba's a much better player than Gameiro, and he's Premier League proven to a degree, and he's free. He's also exactly the type of striker we need, we're playing one up front next season so we need someone who can hold the ball up as well as score goals. Question marks over that knee, Tony Pulis wasn't prepared to take that risk, but Hoffenheim were demanding a hefty sum, we can't really go wrong on a free. Also, those quoting goalscoring records:
Ba: 44 in 109 (Bundesliga and Premier League)
    Gameiro: 59 in 165 (Ligue 1)

Ba is better, and he's actually available and cheaper. Get it done Pardew.

No way are the last two better! You just have to look at the standard of players in each league. The top 9 or 10 in Ligue 1 could compete in the Prem easily (and the top 2/3 regularly compete with Man U and come out better than most). Not to mention they produce class players year on year (Nasri, Ben Arfa, Gervinho, Hazard).

He's as proven in the premier league as Best is... and no-one is/was happy for him to be our leading striker. I agree that you can't really go wrong for a free transfer as long as the wages aren't OTT, but he's failed 2 medicals (one for Stoke and one for Stuttgard), he isn't that great on the ball from what I've seen of him and a lot of his goals are tap ins. He's good for squad depth in my opinion but I don't think we can rely on him to lead the line next season... in fact IF we do I'll be really really disappointed. We can do a hell of a lot better.
