Personally, although I've always aspired to Division 1 when we got there it was not all I thought it would be.

For me, based on the whole matchday experience, I prefer the lower league experience.

I'm not hung up on playing the greats, if I was I'd of spent my youth following Leeds, United or Liverpool like most of my mates. I'm just as happy (probably enjoying it more) at Gigg Lane as I am at Old Trafford.

I have the utmost respect for supporters of lower league teams, especially around here who could so easily have jumped on the big team bandwagon but instead chose to support teams they knew would never be successful.

As I said earlier, enjoy Stevie G today, hope he waves back xx

I'm so excited Ben. Shall we go and touch him together? We could take it in turns to take photos.

What is his business plan in your opinion, and where does trying to change the name fit in?

I suspect Mr Allam realises that too.

    DMD you're not thick.

The club has people reading these boards, when they see people calling Allam all the names under the sun, that would be relayed to him. You know that.

I think the newspapers know that now, if they give AA a tinkle on the blower, he'll snarl like a rabid pitbull for 20 mins and hey presto, a great story.

CTWD have been amicable at all times during this, amidst a barrage of increasingly unhinged and aggressive insults from the local philanthropist.

What can you do? Allam has escalated this every time, no one else. And because he doesn't have a backtrack function then we all go down with him.

Hull City AFC fans have NOT caused this. I refuse to accept that.

Assem Allam has caused this by being inflexible, both with us and with the Council.

He thinks he can hide his core weakness under more stubbornness and tough talk. He can't. It's plain to see, Allam's own personal failings have caused this entirely and in private moments of solemnity, maybe he'll see that.

But in public he can never admit it. What a sad, sad man. From hero to zero. Now just a pensioner raving at all who pass him.

    Sad.

Seriously... why do people go to watch football if it's not to see their team be as successful as they can whilst playing attractive football?

Yes they will support them come what may but surely the hope is always for the team to be successful???

What are you saying? Mr Allam is increasingly lashing out because he thinks he's going to lose this one in the end?

Then they should balance the odd understandable rant with the many reasoned questions and arguments from passionate fans. Mr Allam doesn't even hold a majority in his own house on this one.

No, thats not what I was saying, but it is accurate. He's also looking for a way out now his initial game plan failed.

The real shame is, he still has the option on his initial game plan and leaving a positive legacy, and unlike the name change, that option IS firmly in his hands.

What's more important, a successful team or a name change? Considering how much the PL brings into the area too, an estimated £100m to the local economy, surely it's an obvious choice!!

When has well reasoned arguments ever worked so far?

The choice for Allam has always been ... we do this my way or I **** off.
Well he did do it his way, he got us into the Premier League and now true to his word, he is going to **** off.

While the jubilant "we stood up to a tyrant" celebrate, we can also look forward to a similarly spectacular demise.

    Sad sad day.

That's what I said didn't I? "I've always aspired to Division 1" It was just not all I expected it to be.

It's about affiliation to the club, supporting them whatever league they're in, whatever standard of football they're playing, taking it on the chin when they're ****. It's about loyalty & being proud. I'm was just as loyal & proud in Division 4 as I am now. I prefer the smaller grounds how about you?

In which case, he was going to **** off at some point anyway. Hardly a glowing endorsement for a legacy.

If you'd lived in Germany circa 1939 how many Jews would you have gassed?
