Of course there is. Admit you misjudged the depth of feeling, back down and don't change the name. Seems fairly simple to me.

He really picks his moments doesn't he. We should be looking forward to welcoming one of the giants of English football to the KC this afternoon but that is been overshadowed by Allam's petulant, arrogant and damn right insulting comments. From what
I have seen, apart from a few idiots, the CTID campaign have put their views across with integrity and have expressed their thanks to Allam whilst opposing the name change. I get the impression that he has got wind of the notion that a great more people are opposed to this name change and he has thrown his teddy in the corner because of it. Of all his media interviews, this is by far the most insulting and offensive one and how anyone can justify his words is beyond me. Surely a man of such integrity and intelligence wouldn't stoop as low to insult his 'customers' due to a few people carrying a banner?

At the end of the day, this is Allam's doing. If he hadn't have carried forward the name change plans and in the manner in which he has, CTID would never have come to fruition. We could have been enjoying our season in the top flight and looking forward to consecutive games against Liverpool and Arsenal. Instead, a dark cloud is hanging over our club. At the heart of every club is its fans, the ones who pay their hard earned cash to support the club and to speak of the fans the way he has is disgusting. People had every right to stand up against the name change and I cannot imagine any club where people would have sat back and let this happen passively. Allam underestimated the pride and passion people have for our club and the one constant of the club's 109 year history, its name. The fans have every right to oppose the name change as they are doing so in support of the club they love, not to primarily get at Allam personally. For me, his latest outburst is the last straw. If Allam leaves because we dare speak against his idea, then so be it.

This is not about you or your pals saving face, this is about you continuing to provoke the man so that he pushes the meltdown button.

I really hope this is just the normal bollocksy journalism we accept in this country. If it's true, and if he follows through on this, well, congratulations protestors, not only did you preserve our long and illustrious history, you will have ended it too.

Lets be clear here, no one at all will buy Hull City. Not even if Dr Allam decided to wipe the debts and give the club away. Maybe a Duffen or a Venky would come in on those conditions, but we'd soon end up gone as you all well know.

If he walks, we have no one. We had no one before he came in and stopped us disappearing totally before. I realise some of you will dance around in glee and talk about reforming the club in the Lower Upper North East Rymans Sunday League and clawing your way back up but sorry to break it to you, you won't. Sure, you can sit around talking about the days the "Taargers were int premier league" but will you admit you ****ed it up for the majority of fans who were happy? Please don't be so delusional to think that because we're currently a mid table PL team, an Abramovich or Sheik will be itching to buy us, pump millions in and put us in the Champions League. Hull is not attractive. Its hard work to get investment in anything at all in the city. Even more so for football. What do you think Dr Allam was doing?

Quit throwing the "acting like a child" bollocks around. Quit with the "if he was a proper business man he'd see..." ****e. YOU are acting like kids because YOU do not understand what's needed to keep our great club afloat and to improve it. YOU have already acted like ****s with messages posted online.

Dr Allam isn't going to trawl through the racist, offensive, vile and just plain sick posts made on this and other forums. He will have had a summary. Unfortunately the majority of fans who DON'T think like the sick ****s wishing him dead, gone, cancer, comparing him to every really evil person that ever existed and mocking him are put off posting. Those of us that aren't are shot down in more hatred. What would you do if you were shown this? From "fans" of the club you stopped from extinction? I know what I'd do, Id say "**** you then, and good luck", I just wish he doesn't do that.

It's also a real shame that the majority of you won't take any responsibility for your actions too. "Oh we never said we wanted him out,w e just want to keep the same name". What the **** did you think would happen? Nice cuppa tea, chat, agreement to not change the name? Did anyone come up with an idea to generate 20+ million quid a year? No? Oh sell some more pies, or shirts locally? Brilliant. Let me get on the phone to Defoe now, he'll be here in January. Newsflash genius, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE. YOU will have personally contributed to destroying our club. I know you won't see it, you'll blame someone else, as you always do, but be sure, we all know.

He is, and thanks to a handful of vile ****wits will always be our best owner ever. Just because you don't get it, we lost a club but at least you kept "your" name. **** the 20K + who just want to watch a football team in our city and not rugby, or Leeds or Man U or Liverpool. You stood up to a tyrant big boy. We owe you really, don't we?

Great work. Seriously, you fought the law and you won. It cost a ****e load of us something to do on a Saturday afternoon, but no surrender eh?

Finally, I realise this post will be jumped all over by our resident ****wits, who still won't see what they're personally responsible for in this destruction, but I've said my bit, and I will not be joining in any further debate/discussion on this subject in this or any other thread. There's no point as it looks like I need to either choose another team I don't have personal ties and a 45 year+ love for, or maybe see what all the fuss with RL is.

I was on the fence. I didn't want Hull Tigers but not too bothered about the AFC - I never used it. However, now I'm in the CTWD camp. AA isn't offering reasoned arguments anymore, he's just being a bully.

Any name change now risks losing the club millions in revenue from lost ticket sales and merchandising from existing fans. Not much business sense there if you ask me.

In the words of Philip Oakey...

When I met you. I picked you out
    I shook you up

    And turned you around
    Turned you into someone new.

Now five years later on you've got the world at your feet
Success has been so easy for you.
But don't forget it's me who put you where you are now

And I can put you back down too.

    Don't
Don't you want me? - You know I can't believe it
When I hear that you won't see me.
    Don't
Don't you want me? - You know I don't believe you
When you say that you don't need me.
It's much too late to find
When you think you've changed your mind

You'd better change it back or we will both be sorry.

I ****ing love Mr Allam. He takes it head on doesnt he. Just what i always wanted a chairman to do. Utmost respect for him. He's put his head on the block, if the fans want to chop it off then so be it is what he's saying.

So go ahead. Theres about 2 grand in the CTWD fund, that should wash and trim Thudd's pubes for a year.

I love the fact he's getting all this abuse and then being told he should be buying players in January. ****ing brilliant.

    League 2 in 3 years or 4?

Oh I'll still be here wherever we end up.

If Assem Allam wrote of his debt we would have buyers queuing up to buy us. We are a premier league team that is a striker short of becoming an established premier league team. We are no longer in the fourth division and worthless. We are a fairly attractive proposition for somebody with money to invest and who wants success in Europe.

The first thing a new buyer would do is sit down with the council and get a new deal on the stadium so that it generates income for the club. A five star hotel in time for our year of culture would be a good start.

Correction... we were a Premier League team.
Expect Bruce to walk as well as soon as Allam puts the club up for sale tomorrow.

To be honest, I'm absolutely gutted. If the reaction on here is anything to go by, the City Till I Die campaign has won.
However their victory now means the club will go into financial meltdown.

Jules - I'd had a few last night and was a bit pissed off before even coming on here so I was fully engaged in rant mode.

Obi - it's nothing you've posted on here, it's the statements I'm on about. At face value the wording looks harmless enough but the not-very-deep deeper meaning behind those words is usually calling the man stupid, arrogant or a liar. Those sentiments are barely disguised, and I know they're there to interpret, as you an OLM are both clever enough to make the message slightly more subtle.

Although I will clear up right now that I think the personal insults and aggro towards the man will be what's really fuelling his fire. And he's doing exactly what I said people would do and fusing anything that's anti-name change/anti-anything-to-do-with-Allam together and calling it CTWD. As will anyone who's not in your camp and some people who simply just don't know better.

No but Id say generally it's the minority on the internet.

Saying in the national newspaper the stuff he has is a bit different.

This name change bollox must therefore be revenge for the abuse he got last year when ****s (you) were posting **** like this

"Clearly, the Allan's £40million has bribed you and they've successfully made you believe they are great people." Couldn't even get their name right, you dirty insulting bastard.

"one day we will see their true colours and believe me"

"I don't think the Allams will be seen as our saviour for much longer if they keep this attitude up. I will certainly be the first one to say "told you so" if it all goes pear shaped."

"THey need to go, get rid of the cancer asap even if it means struggling next year"

"OLM could you do an Ahab and suspend TWF from this board for some of his despicable comments tonight? Not too sure too many of us would be in uproar about that decision" Another disrespectful spelling of our owner's name. Yet you pick up on the word "affect"

Let's not beat about the bush now, you have been bought by the PL. You hated our owners & were vociferous in your criticism of them, at one point even comparing them to terrorists.

You're the ****ing cancer, you ****. Sat at home watching your illegal streams ****ing over the stars of the PL. Pathetic piece of ****. Whinging & moaning like a scabby old tart each time we didn't pick up three points. You're not a supporter your're an armchair PL whore of a ****, with no personal standards, values or principles. **** off.

As for our owner's comments in the Independent they are wrong & ill advised. Unfortunately he doesn't take advice & as such will have to take responsibility for his own words.

He is a successful businessman in a specific field. This success does not make him an expert in every field. To believe it does smacks of arrogance. (that's aimed at poster's who defend his business acumen, Mr Allam is consistent in declaring the fact he's not a football man). He needs advice, quickly or this will escalate beyond repair. Those closest to him should be standing up & letting him know that he's crossed the line with these crass comments.
