Dunno, but to be honest as a quite large amount of our benefit bill is spent up there already would it really matter !!!
You, Sir, are very paranoid. How on Earth could you turn a debate about Scotland into one about Ireland even when nobody mentioned bloody Ireland? And have a pop at the UK to boot!!! Fingi, you're a top poster and from what I hear, as sound as a pound. But there's nothing more cringeworthy than Irish mopery. And it ain't the first time you've done it either. As for the Sweaty question, I think they'd be stone mad to break up the Union, a Union which has worked so well for so long. Why break something that works? And I agree with COL about that ginger bird, the one that looked like Colin Hendry. She never shut her mouth from the start of the programme to the finish. Dimbleby should have put her in her place from the get go. She had the look of a Rob Roy about her, fresh out of the Highlands. All she was missing was the shortbread and a tartan shawl. Stan made a shrewd observation about the Scottish temperament. They're quite thrifty and won't be too keen to rock the boat if there's a chance they might be out a few shillings. They'll play it safe and the proposal will be comprehensively defeated next year.
Swords. That part of thst post relating to me is complete and utter bull. It doesn't deserve a detailed response.
If Its a Vote for who is in and out of the union then we should all get a say, why should they get to choose if they stay in when we cant vote to chuck em out.
In a bid to boost the anti-independence vote, Rangers fans have submitted a song to Britain's Got Talent:

Great thread - Have to comment on it - It would be fantastic from a voyeuristic and anarchistic point of view to see the whole thing unfold with a Yes vote. I'm pretty sure there would be a carve up of such proportions that the Oil and Gas (pittyful reserves) would already be sold off in previous long term agreements. Much if not all of the Govt Depts. would have to transfer to England & Wales - a rise in unemployment would lead to an even more serious amount of migration - Salmond would blame the English for screwing him -It's not my fault! - and would end up being literally crucified. And then in about 10-15 years things would calm down!!!! The vote should not be left to anybody that hasn't the intellect to acquire a full overview of the financial and social ramifications - otherwise the whole future of a Country will come down to something that is no better than an X Factor or Strictly Come Dancing Vote. But by Hell, for the neutral - It would be fascinating to watch it play out!
Only if you are a right winger. The BBC defend the government no matter what, they were trying to say all this government spying is ok and then all the comments saying the exact opposite . Do you seriously reckon they are like the daily fail? At most, they lean to the left. I'm neutral so can easily see the difference between the fail and the BBC.
I haven't once mentioned the Daily Mail!!?? What are you on about? I obviously wouldn't think that the Mail is like the BBC, as one is right wing and one is left wing!! The BBC admitted publicly that they are institutionally left wing. It is clear in nearly every news report and ridiculous right on story lines in things like Eastenders. Most political programmes give much more air time to left wing people and cut short the others.
I can't remember the last time I saw a Question Time programme that was properly balanced, where the audience was a proper equal political make-up. Right-wingers tend to be treated almost like pantomime villains and the left-wingers in the audience always seem more prominent. For years anyone who dared question immigration was branded racist, now every prominent Labour politician can't apologise quick enough and Question Time always led the way with such vilification...
That's very true. I'd be left of the spectrum myself but there's nothing more annoying than a programme populating its audience with bleeding hearts who are ready to shout down anyone that disagrees with them. A year or two ago Nick Griffin was on QT and as dodgy as he and his cohorts are, they got a swell in support after that programme, such was the bias and outright bullying he received that night from the Pinko-dominated audience. That particular programme made a mockery of the BBC which prides itself on impartiality and even handedness. The BBC is a great organisation but sometimes it lets itself down with Question Time, I must admit.
