4 strikers on for much of the second half and we still couldn't manage a shot on target. FF reminds me of that greedy kid in the school playground who refuses to pass while Fabrinni keeps falling over. Awful.
Yeovil were resilient in defence, physical but not dirty, capitalised on our errors (too many) and earned a win they probably did not expec tbut was not undeserved. Despite all our possession and moments of individual skill (Forestieri) we did not come close to scoring. We worked good positions but were too slow to shoot, and made nothing of 15 corners! How bad is that? It is hard to know where we go from here, but I fear things will get worse before they get better. Forget promotion and concentrate on winning two games in 5 for survival. Bellerin was excellent and should play again.
This season is NOT going to be a complete loss..........we are getting a brand new stand! For this season lets just dig in, get enough points for safety and start afresh next season with a brand new stand and perhaps better quality (British) players
We are only in a slump (please tommy mooney let it be so) And only in tenth. So time to turn this around and make the play offs or better. Confidence is rock bottom, need a win from somewhere. In my opinion players need to stand up and be counted now, lead by example, grab it by the scruff or the neck, all that jive....Who's going to do that??? It could be worse, remember Iwelumo and Garner bagging the goals?????
Pathetic, heartless, toothless and leaderless! What a load of rubbish! Only plus side was at least Casseti gave a sh1t. That was one of worst games I have been to in a long time! They deserved the win! Angry is not a strong enough word to describe how I felt at the final whistle
Since the disappointment of the game today I have been trying to read around and get a different feel for what I heard. There have been a lot of critical comments of our 1881 singing section and the abuse that was coming from them. Maybe they should stop and consider just why they are there. Become silent if you really cannot find it in you to encourage the team, but what reads as organized abuse will not help players next time they turn out.
In tough times comrades are hard to find. Fans need to get behind the team. To be fair, there is enough 'class' in the squad to get the team out of this. Surely?
I agree Mex, yet for some reason they are not performing. Listening in there were several who made mistakes in defending. It was the same ones as last week and probably the game before that. I still have doubts about a system that sends players out and hopes that the coach can make something out of them. Our play last season was based around a very quick goal scorer playing off of Deeney. FF is not a regular goal scorer nor is he that quick. Did the system send us someone in the Vydra mold? No it didn't, so what we have doesn't work and what will happen to rectify that shortcoming?
I feel like copying and pasting my comments from last week. We did play better and we were dominant in the first half without any ability to actually score (clearly a problem) but then it got worse with the change in formation in my opinion. Acuna though did look like he was giving it everything when he came on which is more than can be said for many others. The defending for their first two goals was shocking (I think the first one was a Deeney own goal) so it's not just scoring that is a problem. What else can you say? Chance to make up for it on Tuesday but don't feel confident about that. Also whoever started the 'this is embarrassing' chant needs to take a good look at themselves because thinking it was a good idea is even more pathetic than the players performance. Given how loud it got we have a lot of idiots amongst our number.
Yeovil must have thought Christmas had come early - an away win and a good boost to their poor goal difference. This slump is a puzzle but I don't think Zola is responsible particularly.
Utter rubbish - thats what I witnessed today from watford - as I said last week we have to start to play dirty - start hoofing the ball sometimes and stop trying to pass the ball all the way to the goal. Zola's tactics have been found out and unless he changes them right away he has to go. At least then a new manager will bring in new confidence. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that he's been sacked before our next game.
So we would then have a new manager that most of us have never heard of, with no experience of English football, let alone the Championship. Although I did hear that Hollowhead is still free.
Thats preferable to a manager living on a past reputation who either can't see he needs to change his preferred way to play or simply won't
Sounds like it was pretty awful yesterday and a lot of frustrated supporters venting. But what is not forgivable are our own fans singing and chanting negative ****, they should be ashamed of themselves.
We would have probably lost had the team been top of the league with 5 wins in a row - its the Watford way to lose against a side(s) at the bottom! Usual story - we gift a goal to the opposition and then try a few shots (least we had some 2nd half) but sloppy play at the back costs us.
Sloppy play everywhere cost us - the 'shots' we had were more like passes to the corner flag - we only got one on target and thats with our top striker playing. Our problem lies in the tactics Zola continues to endorse regardless of the evidence in front of him and the fans. The passing is dire and there is no movement forward, most of the players seem to want to get rid of the ball rather than use it, there is no=one trying to run with the ball or to get themselves in a position to receive the ball. There is no confidence and now the supporters have lost confidence as well. At this rate we'll be the ones relegated not Yeovil and deservedly so.
