Milton Jones is my favourite. I saw him live in Southport in March. Very funny. You sometimes have to work to get the puns.

I've also seen John Bishop live in Liverpool. So he's got a Scouse accent. So what? That doesn't stop him being funny. I know that won't go down well. I do think he sometimes lets it slip that he really thinks he's funny as well though. Still, if I made the kind of money he's making with his accent, I'd be laughing as well.

The best female for me is Shappi Khorsandi. She's Iranian. Foreign and a woman. What chance has she got of being funny? Check her out on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvmKanOEAXE The video is in wide screen and makes her look small and fat - which she isn't. If you can get over your prejudices, give her a try. If not, there are loads of other comediaans in the clips on the right hand side of that page.

My, I am being confrontational today! it must be lack of a match to watch.

I've actually seen Stu Francis live!! At Brid Spa in summer season, he was on with Les Dawson and i think David Copperfield (not the creepy magician one). Beat that.

I'm not usually a fan of American comedy, but I watched Kevin Hart and enjoyed it, so I'm thinking of checking a few more out.

Been hunting around. The old man used to take us every year to Brid to see the summer season show. 1979 was Cannon & Ball and Lena Zavaroni and Berni Flint!!

If it was Ken Dodd we'd go two or three times in the summer. The old man was mad on Ken Dodd.

Remember my gran loving Cannon & Ball & how disgusted she was after she saw them they swear & everything

We saw Ken Dodd at the Lyceum in Crewe. Thought the suggestions of his long sets were exaggerated somewhat. It turns out they're not.

Show started with some bint singing for 20 odd minutes, he came on 'til half 10. 20 minute break & he was back on 'til half 1. I was ****ing starving, we was gonna get some munch afterwards & everywhere was shut. Fair play to the old ****er though he was quite funny.

Aye gets ya moneys worth with Doddy. My old man loved him. Its an abiding memory of my dad laughing till he cried watching him. My Dad used to tell a story of being in the army and seeing him entertaining the troops, sort of an i saw him before he was even popular you know. Used to tell it to everyone sat round us.

I've told it on here before but I was in a Ken dodd sketch once. He was in summer season at Brid and he filmed a sketch for his show on Fraisthorpe beach. my mam had taken us there. The old man was at work he was furious.

Once you see Richard Pryor live in concert, nothing comes close.

Mind, Chris Rock Bigger & Blacker is pretty good.

Stick Jim Jefferies Anne Frank into You Tube and see what you think.

He's very blue but highly amusing.

Just ensure the kids and her indoors aren't within ear shot.
