They have a large Portugese contingent; Quaresma, Simao, Fernandes and Almeida so he should be quite comfortable.
Could learn a lot from Quaresma and Simao but the other side of the coin is that he'll have limited chances coz of the above two.
Watching him, I think he'll be good out and out striker, good heading ability, strong, fast, surprisingly good first touch.

With a view to a £2m permanent move.

I think he is better than Obertan, Diouf and the gone Manucho. As a striker his crossing, passing and skills will not be needed as much. Anyway, that is my 2 pence

    Your thoughts?

I think it would be good for him if Besiktas could guarantee game time. He needs to play more but isn't of the standard at the moment to play for united.

Good that's the way it should be. Get all the new lads in early and then we can focus on getting them all settled. I'm glad that there is no major International tournament this summer too. They will be raring to go the new lads. I won't be surprised if these 3 signings are the only new faces in at United. I can't help think Nasri won't come, Modric will stay at Spurs and we won't sign anybody from Europe.

    Game time at Besiktas?

You may want to check their team people. Hes got some serious competition.

An added bonus though is he has 4 fellow Portuguese there with him

I actually think he's looked quite decent when I've seen him play for the reserves. Still very raw obviously, but the potential is there.

Obertan on the other hand is ****e.

I've always thought the other way round. Though if I am being completely honest I don't think either will make it at United. Obertan a couple of seasons ago was on the fringes and getting a bit of gametime and I thought he looked quite good but recently he hasn't got anywhere near the side. Bebe I think has a long way to go because from judging what what I have seen he has probably, honestly been the worst player I have seen pulling on a United shirt.

    Game time?

You do realise Besiktaz have both Quresma and Simou on the wing, better than anything we have apart from Nani who starts ahead of those 2 for portugal but they would walk into our team on the left side.

    Bebe won't get many games

I personally don't think I've seen enough in Bebe to warrant a move to Man U, he looked poor on the ball and a bit sluggish TBH. What did you buy him for?

Queiroz said he had raw potential and could be a great player.....

anyway, why do besiktas even want him? i thought they were well stocked on the wings?

You do realise Bebe has been playing at number 10 for our reserves, with Brady and E.T. on the wings? He's not up to Utd level, but I reckon he has a decent chance of displacing Nobre up front.

And there is no way Quaresma would walk into the Utd side. Rejected by Inter, rejected by Chelsea, and has barely featured for Portugal over the last two years. He's a bigger show pony than Nani and Ronaldo combined.

I know despite some peoples "views" on the likes of Obertan and Bebe, they have impressed in the reserves and yes, I am prepared for people citing examples of players shining in the reserves but not making the step up to United's first team but all they can do is play the games they are picked for and perform well.

Obertan has certainly shown talent but getting the best out of him all the time is a tall order. The potential of Bebe can be seen, good on the ball, looks powerful and pacy so theres things to work with there. I'm not saying they are going to be world beaters but they aren't as bad as some people make out.

Going off names alone I see? Quaresma couldn't get a sniff for Barcelona, Inter Milan or Chelsea so what makes you think he would walk into United's first team?

    Simao is finished.

I think Bebe gets talked down purely cos of the fee we paid. If we'd signed him for around £500k like we did with De Laet and Vermijl then everyone would have said he's still young and we should give him a few years to prove himself. It's only the amount of money we paid that makes everyone think he should be proving himself in the first team after less than one season of professional football coaching.

Obertan on the other hand has had years of professional coaching, at Bordeaux, Lorient and United and hasn't really shown anything other than potential. And he hasn't helped himself by continually talking himself up and demanding a transfer if he doesn't get in the first team. I'm not convinced he'll ever make it at Utd.

I agree. With Bebe it's almost like whatever he does, he just can't win with some people and they just don't know how different a lifestyle and culture he has to adjust to. I'm not saying that he is going to make it, but I can hope. Not just because of the rags to riches story, but honestly I can see something about him that can be built upon.

I also agree with you on Obertan. Somehow, he is more frustrating than Nani because I think he is probably the best dribbler that we have at United. Similar to Taraabt in some respects where you get the sense that there is this enormous talent but he isnt backing it up. So for that reason, I don't think he'll make it either.

It's not that I don't rate him because he used to be homeless, its because every time I have seen him he looks league 2 standard. He doesn't even have the basic footballing skills (e.g. crossing a ball, control etc) right!
