How many chances have Sagbo\Graham fluffed which Defoe would smash into the back of the net? I dont think a striker is our only problem at the moment. Our hopeful balls into the box have been dreadful of late, and easily cut out by the oppositions defence.
If AA pays for a striker it means he really does not give a monkeys about the protestors. If he does care then we will be lucky to have a team worthy of league one after the Jan sales
Paying a lot of money for a striker who can actually score goals would be good business. If we finish the season near mid table we will be able to attract better players next summer. I would think it makes more sense signing somebody on loan in January than buying.
If AA does let the club decline, it's only him it will affect as I guess staying in the PL is an integral part of him getting any money back.
You know something? Never mind these 2, Ive got a feeling we'll sign Becchio in jan. I'm not saying I do want him by the way.
I'm not sure what I want in January. Defoe and Long are both out of the question in my opinion. If we sign someone it'll increase our chances of staying up and therefore the financial situation improves. Great. Problem is I don't want the club owing Allam any more money and anyone we sign will add to that total. If he said we can't afford to gamble on a striker I'd accept that. We'd still have a decent chance of survival.
I wonder how long it would take our midfield and Bruce to realise that high crosses to Defoe weren't resulting in goals. It seems our main plan at home whereas away we seem a lot more inventive - most matches anyway.
In January there's not many clubs that sell a good striker - especially one that is likely to want to come to a newly promoted side.
Defoe or Long?...........Neither. Defoe will got to America for the money and Long will stay with WBA, with them taking up their 1 year option. We can't match the money Defoe wants and WBA will not release Long to an opposition, especially now he's scoring goals.
Ive been posting that for ages. Hardly news about Defoe and the MLS. £3.5m a year for 3 years according to reports. But we could get him on loan though. Watch this space. Ryan Nelsen ex.Spurs defender and team-mate is behind the move to the MLS. Defoe left out of the Spurs squad for last nights europe league game in Norway.
It has been on the cards for yonks. But Defoe wants to give Brazil a go before he does. i would think Spurs would allow us to take him before any of the big clubs. Even for just 5 months it is worth paying out what it will cost. It may well cost far more not to. A fun January awaits.
Saido Berahimo signs a new contract for just £15k a week until 2017 with the Baggies yesterday. Interesting comments from Wba midfielder Malumbau who wants out. He sights the club being unprofessional for it.
Now a done deal. £90k a week - 4 year contract. Staying with Spurs on loan until the MLS starts back.
