Our owners fully understand what they can and cant change at our club. Changing the stadium name didnt bother us as it was a sponsorship deal already. Had they have changed it from Filbert Street to the King Power Stadium then people wouldnt have stood for it. What the Cardiff owner and what your owners have done is disrespect the whole club and everyone connected with it past and present. When our club considering dropping the "City" and reverting back to our original name of Leicester Fosse they consulted with the fans properly and let the fans decide. Even if they did change back to Leicester Fosse its still sticking with the club heritage
I voted for Leicester Fosse. It's a unique name and one that is dear to the Leicester Football Club. I don't have a problem with 'City', I just prefer Fosse. I remember that game though, Dickov hattrick in a 4-0 win against Wimbledon whose fans were fighting a losing battle against their clubs owners. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2003/feb/24/match.sport8
At the time I wanted City but if they did the vote again I would have to think about it. Fosse is unique like you say and its remains with our heritage. The owners might consider it once we get to the Premier League as its something that would make us different as the Hull owners say I can understand the thinking behind what the Hull owners are doing but its just doesnt work and shouldnt happen. Its too American and too cheesy.
I too voted for 'Fosse' despite over 25 years supporting 'the City' at the time ... partly because I felt we really needed to wipe the slate clean given that our administration had damaged a lot of other businesses and people ...
