the good, the bad and the ugly; the sting and the deerhunter are all good ones for me. the last one gets the tears rolling. another fave, possibly my no. 1 or at least top 3 has to be 'where eagles dare'. they should play it before the start of a match! a friend, ex-forces, who runs expeditions told me a funny story about being at an expo in germany and some german outdoorsy company started to play the music whilst demo'ing some of their climbing equipment/clothing whilst him and a few mates started pissing themselves as the german co. clealy didn't know where the 'score' was from. nor did they understand why 4 brits were laughing at them, whilst shouting "broadsword calling danny boy, broadsword calling danny boy. over"
Soundtrack not so much a theme tune but a bit mega.

By brother just phoned me about this news Comm. We actually met him in Fusion night cub in Sunderland in the early 1980's when he was doing a talk there about his life. We ended up having a good crack on with him after he had done his bit on stage, and he come across as being a genuinely nice bloke..

Some great choices on here but mine is "Big Rock Candy Mountain" from 'O Brother, Where Art Thou?' The song was first recorded in 1928 by Harry McClintock and is a song about a hobo’s idea of paradise People think it's a 'nonsense song' but the jolly little tune hides lyrics of desperation in the depression years. The rest of the music in the film is top class thanks to T-Bone Burnett who also handled the Johnny Cash film 'Walk the Line'.
nice story....while you're onto 70s brit cop shows there's also this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D99O6oTJVHo
