Just wondering what everybody's cup of tea is when it comes to tele? I don't watch much. I'll watch anything sporting and the odd news/documentary programme. My favourite programme at the moment is Coast. It is on now. I love it. Very educational and informative. What's your's?
Top Gear Doctor Who Star Trek (pretty much all incarnations except DS9 - it's a bloody trek, so don't stay in one place!!) Time Team Wheeler Dealers Fast N' Loud Auction Hunters QI
I don't watch any channel (unless it's football) that has adverts ... my company make at least 30% of what is on there. I have a lot of trouble seeing these sometimes months in advance at concept level and then watching them makes me sick to the bone. I like Top Gear, Ripper Street, Masterchef as Mrs DT knows monica. I am banned from watching the news by my lady as I rant like a madman ... watch the hand movements.
A couple of Dr Who fans already - what did you think of the anniversary special last week? I thought it was excellent, but have read and heard complaints that it was difficult to follow?
I've just watched the first episode of 'The Call Centre' and still can't decide if its made up or not. Pure TV gold, everyone should have a Nev as a boss
I am a sitcom man. Modern Family top of the list followed by The Middle, Everybody Loves Raymond, Frasier, Seinfeld.
It was excellent - and not at all difficult to follow unless you are one of these ultra-geeky people who know 'canon' and need to find meaning and explanation in every single microbe of content / conversation. Sometimes a throwaway remark is just that, but it can be debated for months. Like (for example) The Curator - who actually was he? Or What number Doctor was John Hurt, and therefore what number Doctor were any of the others? It's just a TV show, and if insignificant technical details spoil your enjoyment of a show that you enjoy, then you're not that much of a fan then.....
Today's episode of coast was all about the Netherlands coast. Flanman, I am sure you would have enjoyed it.
At the moment the 3rd and final season of Borgen saturday bbc4 at 9pm is compelling viewing.....shame they didn't do a re-run of the first 2 series prior to showing this series. Would like to see a re-run of The Bridge, a triffic Danish/Swedish colaboration...... Used to enjoy HIGNFY but the last series was appalling, Hislop & Merton have lost interest and the satire has gone, now it mostly evolves around the guest presenter..... Can take or leave most of the soaps and car crash tv such as I'm a celeb.....
I used to love 'Fingerbobs'. Can't see the youth of today enjoying a weird, bearded bloke pretending his finger is a shrimp, a mouse or a tortoise.
I've just finished watching 'Banshee' that I had Sky plussed back in the summer. That was an excellent show. Is it just me, but I find it weird that the Americans call a TV series a season. But in sports their season is a series?
Most stuff on BBC4 - Montalbano, the Killing, the Bridge, Borgen etc Re-runs of The Professionals or Magnum PI on some trash channel Listen to the wireless more tbh
