Being Rumoured, anybody heard anything...? http://www.otib.co.uk/index.php?/topic/159267-sod-gone/ Confirmed on Radio Bristol....
No its true http://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/article/20131127-odriscolldeparts-1201638.aspx Cheerio SOD thanks for **** all basically
People on twitter aren't happy with him being sacked and because basically all of my followers follow me because of live away game tweets I feel I cant post anything negative.... What I really want to say YAY!!!!!!!! THANK **** THAT USELESS **** IS GONE! What I had to say Brett Liddiatt ‏@Brett_Liddiatt 4m Cant say im surprised. This is a results based industry and he wasn't getting them. We move on to the next chapter of life at BCFC now.
Yeah but to sack him after our best performance of the season and on loan deadline day?? This club never ceases to amaze me!
I reckon he walked, main site says part company- The guy has not produced and it was a strong possibility it was going to happen,Sad it did not work out,i wish the guy all the best. I Wonder if on deadline day he wanted players and the club did not back him,so he said Sod you i am off.I am on a hiding to nothing. Warnock or Holloway either would be nice-
Bloke was inept and failed to rectify his failing tactics months ago. I genuinely don't think ANYONE could do worse with this group of players. Replacements then? Di Canio - Hmmmm, not my first choice but no doubt on the boards list Danny Wilson for round 2? Tisdale is usually linked Martin Allen Holloway Warnock Not inspired by any of those really, but 5/6 are unemployed. My guess is they are ringing Colins number!
I am surprised the Board did not take this action after the Sheffield United match. Warnock for me even though he's not my cup of tea as a person, he gets players motivated.
Considering the odd timing I would hope they already have the next "specific" man already waiting. My young son has the opportunity of joining WBA with a team mate. My decision, and the decisions of other parents in future will be affected by the next appointment e.g Warnock with a contract = We go up the motorway twice a week.
I agree this is a very strong possibility - it would otherwise seem odd timing in terms of us starting to see an upturn in results and performance, though by equal measure it could be that the board wanted to give a new boss time to assess the squad ahead of the January transfer window. I have mixed feelings about this - it's depressing seeing City struggle in League One, but at the same time I understood the need for significant change and expected a certain amount of short-term hardship. City's managerial record since GJ left isn't pretty reading now and it could be we're getting a bad reputation. I know managers are under pressure at all clubs, but I think the level of criticism is particularly high here when times get tough. Not sure on who is likely to replace SOD or who I'd like to see come in. I'd say no to Holloway, purely because I think as soon as things get tough the whole Rovers association will come up and there'll be a particularly toxic atmosphere. Not convinced Warnock will want to work anywhere again now and Paulo Di Canio would be too much of a gamble, with any potential short-term benefit cancelled out by the inevitable fallout that would occur at some point. Maybe there's a young foreign manager with strong links to England, in the mould of Gus Poyet or Roberto Martinez, that might see it as a good opportunity - would it be absurd to think that Roberto Di Matteo might want to prove himself?
Definite NO to Di Matteo, he hasn't proven he can manage a team if you ask me. You can say he has a Champions League medal, but that Chelsea team barely won that medal, and the players won it themselves, Di Matteo had very little to do with it. Unfortunately our scouting system isn't particularly good, and our board aren't terribly bright when it comes to Football, or running the club as a business for that matter. So the chances we will get a foreign manager in seems unlikely. We will get someone who has done the rounds at other clubs, uninspiring and unimaginative.
Di Matteo wouldn't even look at our offer. He has rejected top Italian, Spanish and English clubs. He wants a big club like Chelsea.
He won't ever get a club like that again in his career, totally unproven manager in my book. I wouldn't trust him with a league one club let alone a prem club. I have said for a while that someone like Paul Clement might be a good shout. Worked under the best managers in Europe and could be a bit of a Steve Clarke.
Good call all round Worst manager in our history Abject win record Took us down when should have retained Championship place Random tactics and team selection ****ing awful in front of the media Get Colin in now !
If you were a season ticket holder you would have the email stating the board made the decision to part company with SOD..??
