http://www.sportsdirectnews.com/football-transfer-window/36498-tottenham-swansea-loan-offer-for-holtby.php Interesting idea - I like the player. Very good technically and might be looking to put himself in the frame for the Word Cup / transfer for regular football.
Isn't he playing fairly regularly for Spurs? EDIT: He's played 14 times for them already this season.
Excellent pedigree but I can't say I've ever been impressed by him at Spurs...couldn't believe he came straight in and jumped in front of Siggy last season. He plays like he thinks he is very good indeed. Strikes me as over complicating things at times. Siggurdsson is a far more effective player for me. ...having said that, half of Europe were chasing him before he chose Spurs and if he came here there's a very good chance he'd become an important first team player for us.
another frigging midfielder - can he cross a decent ball? why not a defender and a striker, we call all see it, I wonder why ML cannot
An additional striker for me also, in a different style to what we already have. I think we are linked to a Spanish defender
I like Holtby but as others have said our midfield is very strong. We've sent an excellent player to Sunderland on loan already!
We might have some good midfield players but they lack the energy, the fizz, that is so vital at this level. Parker showed what we need and Holtby seems to be a younger version albeit he hasn't really found his form yet. I'd take him but he'd need to hit his straps pretty quickly.
Doesn't this sum up why this is surely badly researched paper talk? EDIT: might be because Erikson is returning from injury, but it's still a serious fall from grace to go from first team to on loan!
