I have plenty of answers but I've been advised not to get involved in Ben's personal vendetta for your viewing pleasure. Nice to see you have to jump on Ben's wagon. I must have riled you up too
I do care about my team .I just have better things to get upset about than a name change that still includes HULL.I was more bothered about Cash Convertors and Udders and have boycotted replica shirts and went to Hudders with city stuff to give to Terriers fans. I just really think this is not as important.I remember before the Udders protest how this forum was full of passion-then I remember how many turned up-Also for march at KC.I wish I could forget the excuses/reasons given for the non attendance at the protests by some pretty prominent posters on here. I will be writing to AA to express my support and gratitude for what he has and is achieving for us and to tell him there are many who think the protestors are out of order-especially when they start to distance themselves from the predictable consequences of their campaign. If you light a fire in the hall you will be guilty of killing people in the bedroom. The arrogance of the CTWD to suggest that people are lesser if they do not join the mob is pathetic I went to Huddersfield when I had other things I could have been doing and spending my money on.If you think this name change (which still includes Hull) is more important than a police force abusing your freedoms I genuinely worry about the future.
We're almost there; opinions are polarising by the day. Publish the meeting minutes or be toothless. This club will be sold.
Well if we go down, we are apparently ****ed. So we may have far worse to deal with than a name-change.
I'm thinking that is CTWD's secret agenda anyways. This is now far bigger than a name-change dispute.
So you make up a scenario and then criticise people whether they think that or not? Can you show us anybody who as advocated what you have just claimed is a common view?
I don't believe opinions are polarising. Theres one or two on here offering very little by way of decent argument in support of the name change, they're just trotting out the same things in different ways. I've yet to meet anyone in support of the name change, and that includes non-City fans. I've only met one person that wasn't totally opposed to it, and he didnt like it, he just felt if it can change one way, it can be changed back when it inevitably fails. Hardly polarised. Mr Allam can dig his heels in, it's not his decision to make, so there's little point having a personal dig at him. Its the Authorities with the ultimate say.
I'm not going to waste time finding specific posts. Maybe tomorrow. But quite a few have definitely suggested/implied: - he's gone back on his words "giving back to the city" - that he's only doing this to get back at HCC - that he's been lying (recently) and therefore questioning whether he was at all truthful, even at the start of his tenure. I've a few poster names in my head but I won't say who until I have found the posts.
wrong. It may not happen when he wants but the FA won't be able to stop this. What would their argument be?
You act like potential rich good club owners are queuing up to buy football clubs. Allam has put money into the club but he should appoint a real chief executive - not a lap dog - to run the club. He should then be able to sell the club at the best possible price eventually. There is no sense in trying to force him out. That doesn't mean we shouldn't oppose his name change plans.
