    No of course not, but that's the fault of the format, the CL should be for champions only, you see what the change of format had done to prem football when Wenger classes finishing top 4 as a trophy in the cabinet, they should deffo change the name of the tournament. <ok>

    Liverpool and Chelsea were the least deserving of the recent champions. They were hardly the best teams in England never mind Europe...<ok>

    If the CL is to be for "champions" only then the champions must be subject to a transfer ban meaning no players in or out, otherwise it's a different team playing in the CL the next year anyway.

    Or you can have a Champions Cup played right after the end of the season where the winners of each league play-off.

    Since playing in the current CL is based on performance in the previous season, qualification is more like relegation/promotion i.e. more than 1 team.

    Can't agree with that astro, we won it in 78 with players bought in the previous summer(Souness, Jocky and King Kenny)and those of us around at the time never complained.
