So they want to fill the stadium with our colours. They've made a statement about "Liverpool fans" in the home areas. Anyone with half a brain cell can see the problems with a ****e load of massive flags (clue: Some people actually like to see the game of football they've paid for). It's almost like some of you aint happy unless you're bitching about something. Or this forum is just a gathering point for trolls. Im starting to think that even if the good Doctor reversed the name change plans, you same whiners would find something else to complain about instantly. This is a good start by the club to improving the atmosphere. It's a good start to dealing with "Hull Reds" in the home ends. It's also a perfect chance for some of you to display your crayon skills with some decent sized banners. There is literally nothing bad about this.
So how come it wasn't a problem last year? How come the club were able to promote a flag day without all these specific rules a year ago? Surely it's not all just another coincidence that the club are suddenly very strict on the size of flags, when there happens to be a massive one that they don't like?
Its ironic that the photo accompanying the article is of a massive flag, quite clearly bigger than 6*4
I have to agree with Happy - if people aren't happy with the club announcement it seems strange. What they've announced can only help the team perform better on the pitch - isn't that what every City fan should want??
They've never dictated the size like that before. Do you reckon it's pure coincidence they do it after being shown up last week?
Jesus christ, it's almost unbelieveable how naive some people can be, this statement has clearly been sent out to counter CTWDs call to bring your flags in, the 6x4 size restrictions ensure that none big enough to be picked out by the TV cameras will be allowed in, the WE ARE HULL CITY flag for example. Whoever owns that flag please cut it into 6x4 sections and bring it on Sunday...
Of course it's not a coincidence - forget CTWD - the muppets who demonstrated during the game with their giant flag is the reason for the size criteria I'm sure it has nothing whatsoever to do with CTWD and if there hadn't have been a protest during the game I would have thought they would have allowed CTWD to protest prior to kick off again
When were in Peking, the Chink security forces have in effect sealed off Tienamen Sq by having a massive six lane road around it so pedestrian access is by underpass only. In each underpass there are security mean who will ask to look in your bag to check there are no subversive messages, slogans, flags or items. That satisfied, you may proceed. When in the square there are also plenty of plain clothes ****s sauntering about checking everyone out. Never thought I'd see the day etc In 2013, 'We are Hull City' = 'Free Tibet'
There wasn't a protest during the game as such. CTWD passed a flag along the crowd with no fuss at all. Two fans had a banner with "We are Hull City" on it. Stewards ****ed up and due to their poor handling of SUPPORTERS not CTWD, it got coverage in the media. So you're miles off and ignorant with your "muppets who demonstrated during the game" remark.
Timeline. CTWD ask permission for flag, granted. Desperate attention seeker smuggles flag in and displays. Pathetic stewards cause more trouble. Desperate attention seeker gets owned and shown the error of his ways, unfortunately there may be more. So.. Club issue stupid statement banning large flags, in the fear of more desperate attention seekers deflecting from the game constantly. A right bollock up now.
You say I'm miles off - I think I'm bang on target. You don't protest during a game no matter how tame you think the protest is. That is the reason the large flags are banned And if you asked the players / management whether they'd prefer people not to do a lap of protest whilst they're playing at home what do you think they would say.
Have you never seen the huge flags passed around the sands at Old Trafford or Anfield or at almost every game in Europe ?
Yes they do - but are those flags in anyway designed to antagonise the current owners of Liverpool and Man Utd - that is the subtle difference
