See, I don't mind that with Pastore as the ONLY reason his price is so high is PSG stupidly spent 45 mil on him and gave him a fortune and now have to get rid ( sounds similar to Carroll eh?). Difference is he is a good player but def not at what they want to sell for. It will be interesting to see which kind of midfielder we bring in.
Yep - they'll want to recoup as much as possible. Unfortunately, I can only see them selling for £20m at least. If we can get it down to £15m, then that is definitely value for money. First things first - defensive midfielder/controller type midfielder. M'Vila, Fernando and Matic are the main targets. I would say we would have wanted another attacking midfielder but left back is now a higher priority.
CONFIRMED - Pastore to join Liverpool in January in a deal worth £24m as PSG look to buy Chelsea's Juan Mata.
Anything less than 35mill is under valued for Mata... Pastore would be more of a gamble, but could be great if he picks up his attitude and consistency. That said, can't see either of them joining us.
Said it last transfer window and I'll say it again, Salah looks a very good player every time I've seen him play. Young wide player with a good goal scoring record. Played for the best team in the Country so used to dealing with pressure and has performed in the CL.
I thought his scoring record in the league was terrible, I'm sure they said that during the match last night? He scores against Chelsea but no one else
7/42 in the Swiss league tells me he's not gonna make a huge impression in the PL. Yeah he looks pretty handy from time to time, and does well against Chelsea, but I'd be disappointed personally if we ended up with him.
He's wearing the same clothes that he was wearing at the game the other day Edit: Just put two and two together and got 26.5
"Ryan Bertrand picking up now - reported in the Telegraph this morning. £8m" so the only question this time is if the player decides he wants to come, as looks like Chelsea don't want any more. is odd that i have seen many a Chelsea fan say he is one for the future and a star in the making, yet Mourinho comes along and looks like he isnt getting much of a chance. lets hope he is another Sturridge if we get him in the manager should have had more faith in him.
Rodgers has worked with Bertrand before. Personally, I think there are better options out there but that's mainly because I haven't really seen Bertrand play that much.
Liverpool striker Fabio Borini, 22, currently on loan at Sunderland, could return to Italy in another loan move. Full story: Daily Star
Anyone else find it strange that this wasn't mentioned anywhere, it gets discussed on this site (this thread in fact) and suddenly its in the paper the next day? #spy
my thought here is he's thrid choice now and cole is 32. chelsea would be bloody mad. sure if you can lay hands on him the get the guy but 8mil? I doubt it. I daren't hope they are still this thick.. if they are go then buy lukaku for 5mil.
not a stretch here. once the mad man left sunderland this "asset" is not looking periously close to being a total loss for us. We must get him real games and i am also sure form his own point fo view the world cup is looming and he would like a half chance at going.
