They're apparently sending out an info pack to prospective managers.... please log in to view this image
Yes, I enjoy Alton Towers too. I hope I go back to where I belong too, as I've not been to Alton Towers in a few years.
Now, now, that's not like you, I keep thinking of offering sympathy towards the cause, but then I make the mistake of checking out The News site, and I just come to the conclusion that the majority don't deserve it, they want instant success, yesterday and won't tolerate any form of failure, the Club may be a Phoenix and rise from the ashes, it will not happen overnight, you have to keep the faith for a long haul. There will be bad times, but also good times, make the most of them when they come. No point taking notice of any of the WUMs and Trolls they are only getting their fun at your expense, sticks and stones e.t.c., internet words can't hurt you. You should be more worried about the negative attitude of your own posters, therein lies your worse problem, they are losing belief.
Barker has just been sacked by Crawley, so wouldn't be surprised to see him get the job, seems to be quite successful on limited funds as well. Can't understand why Crawley have sacked him when he is favourite for the Pompey job, they've basically waived any right to compensation. It's not as if he was doing a bad job there either.
Oh no, sorry you must have misunderstood: you just mentioned you wanted a manager to take them to Oblivion and I agreed because Alton Towers is a fun place and I wouldn't mind going there myself. Though I prefer Air to Oblivion. Oh it's all just a bit of banter. I relish a bit of verbal sparring with some intelligent chaps such as yourselves unlike the idiots on the News. As for our fans, I think the majority of them recognise it's a long term project, even on the News and the majority of people aren't calling for instant success and would just be happy with upper mid-table this season. Recent weeks have seen us dragged towards the relegation zone and the consequences of falling out of the league would be pretty disastrous which is why quite a few people were in favour of managerial change, not some misguided view that we are Pompey, we should be in the top 2 at least. That's why Guy's comments about other teams raising their game because of who we are didn't go down well with fans. Tbf, I think his comments have had quite a large impact on his sacking rather than just results and performances.
Not won in 7 games and scored only once. So perhaps not that good. Perhaps Crawley think there is no chance of getting any money out of Pompey in compensation & don't want to be at the back of the long football creditors queue?
Managers who get a team promoted should get at least the next season in the role regardless of results as someone doesn't suddenly become a crap manager.
He didn't get Crawley promoted. He got Bury promoted the season before and then joined Crawley in August last year.
Feel Pompey would be well advised to go for Claridge. Always comes across extremely well as a pundit. Has his heart with Portsmouth, has managerial experience and would probably work for an affordable wage packet. Maybe get Jim Smith in alongside him and you're away. What is Michael Appleton up to nowadays?
Michael Appleton? Well I don't know. I mean I haven't seen him since they stopped filming the Harry Potter films. Jolly good he was too as he who must not be named!
