...was listening to TalkSport on way into work this morning - Alan Brazil and David Ginola had Ray Wilkins on to comment on a deluge of complaints from disgruntled Spurs and Chelsea fans ... they also mentioned an article in one of the papers this morning regarding Jermaine Defoe claiming that he was considering a move to Toronto in Canada - Butch made the point that Jermaine was only 30 and shouldn't need to go to Canada at this stage of his career ... further, that if he didn't get an opportunity with another Prem side then why not the Championship where he would be a player that could 'shoot a challenging side into the Prem' ... I agree .... and just hope Nigel was listening!

He's still a quality player, just not suited to Spurs new style of one man up front.

Mind you, AVB might consider a formationr rethink after Sunday <laugh>

He worked best when he had someone to play off, like Crouch. Can see him going back to West Ham in January. Think he could work well playing off Carroll.

    He's on about £70k a week.

He's also almost certainly going to Toronto according to the latest updates ... I'd have hoped he might have taken a wage cut to play ... and that we might have come to a compromise on a goals related bonus deal - plus the savings from offloading Neil Danns and Gally ... but hey ho.

If he was going to the Championship, he'd goto QPR due to wages, and the fact that they don't seem to give a **** about FFP.

... one of the reasons that I don't think he'd go to QPR ... they'd really be asking for it if they overreach any further - plus Harry has a history of leaving him on the bench (should they get to the Prem) - with us he'd have quickly become first choice striker (for the next 2 or 3 seasons) - but all irrelevant now by the look of it

AVB might be on the brink by the sounds of things

I suspect he will leave Spurs before Defoe

And Defoe in Canada or the Championship in World Cup year <laugh>

... according to TalKSport that's exactly why he wants to go ... he thinks he has no chance of a World Cup place from Spurs bench and is therefore desperate to go ... Ray Wilkins' view was that if he started banging goals in - no matter where -Roy might just consider him for an 'impact sub' role - worked for Beckham to some degree - and English forwards aren't exactly setting the world on fire currently are they?

Prem teams would snap him up

Someone like Everton would be the perfect fit. Lukaku and Defoe up front or Villa with Benteke

About half the teams in the prem would want him and teams like Hull who now know their strikers could cost them might be more inclined to spend big on someone proven like Defoe

Sunderland and Stoke are also crying out for a striker or even a return to West Ham

They are also managed by ew-teamate Ryan Nelson for anyone not aware ...

Obviously the money's good - but at this point in his career I really would hope his prime motivation is the need to play football rather than be sitting on a subs bench ... just saying.

He'd be playing every week for more wages in Canada, win win.

Quite right - a shame that such a talented goalscorer has spent so long on the bench in recent seasons ...

Also a shame about the quality of league hes going to, lets hope his goal scoring record there isn't going to swing him an England spot, it didnt work for Heskey down under though tbf <laugh>

Bruno had already announced his International retirement ... and who can blame him ... it is, after all, common knowledge that England would have won the last 3 world cups if he hadn't been playing <laugh>

No chance he will be at Hull.

I like how some of the Hull supporters hate him so much about the name change, yet expect him to spend millions on Defoe or Long.

I love him for saving our club. I met him on the night of our promotion (04.05.13) in a local restaurant. I thanked him for saving and club and getting us promoted.
I despise him for lying on many occasions about the name change.
He had the chance to buy Long on deadline day and he f****d it up. He had the chance to get Hopper but dilydallyed until Hoops went to Norwich.
Defoe weekly wage is way out of our price range and I would not expect him to pay that amount.

I have personally written to him (other protest groups are available) asking for an explanation to the name change. I won't hold my breath for a reply.

Some things are more important than money. To me (and thousands of others) the name change is like ripping the heart and soul out of us.

I wont be as upset as the Hull City fans that are season passholders if they dont sign a decent striker as I had to relinquish my pass due to short-time working. I can only manage the odd game now sadly.

Hopefully your owner wont call you Leicester king power foxes. If he does you might understand a little better why we feel like we do.
