You've seen him play then? I'd never heard of him until this week.

WELL done Matty Etherington, loved by the Stoke fans he's a Stokie now and it's staying that way. He's better than Downing any day of the week.
And IF we sign Jerome, I will shoot myself in the head. WHAT do you see in this guy T.P.?
Go for Jack Collison, decent box to box player would suit Uncle Tone's work ard approach too. Unlike Jerome, he couldn't hit a donkey's ass with a banjo.

This looks to be another frustrating Transfer Window. Linked with sub-standard strikers (Jerome, Cole and Ranger) and centre backs whilst ignoring the places we need to strengthen i.e. CM/ LB/ Creative Striker.

Of course, chances are Pulis hasn't moved on the transfer front, and all these rumours are 100% made up by lazy journalists.

I've mentioned this guy in the past that I follow on Twitter, who is an ex scout and Coach, who's always been very good with his info has had this to say:

Told Tottenham very interested in signing Ryan Shawcross.

When asked by someone how much:

    Guess 10 million ish

When asked whether we'd ask for players in exchange:

    Palacios,but he wants big money.

50 million for Ryan with Pav and Defoe thrown this way, I'll take it. Otherwise Sgt, someone is talking through their rear end mate.

No way should we let Shawcross leave even for silly money. He may, of course, leave in the future but not now please.

Another point: I am surprised that TP is not pursuing Seb Larsson from Brum, he's out of contract and from all accounts is a good player when he plays regularly.

Seb Larsson wouldn't play regularly though, we already have Ethers and Pennant, both of who are better players IMO. What about Bowyer?? As long as he wouldn't mind being a squad player and spending most of his time on the bench

Hope we sign Carew full time. He's a free agent and provides good back-up and competition for Jones. I think we should do our best to exploit free transfers as they are great ways to increase the squad, which is a necessity now we are in Europe. David Vaughan from Blackpool would be another good one.

Carew won't be signing. I think we are a bit put off by his wages, plus he I don't think he is the player he was 2 or 3 years ago. I agree about Vaughan though, although I highly doubt we'll get him, that's if we're in for him at all.

THE agent of Swedish star Seb Larsson has dismissed reports that Stoke City are about to snap up the out-of-contract Birmingham midfielder.

The Potters have been heavily linked with the 26-year-old wide-man, pictured, who is a free agent after five years at St Andrew's.

Stoke were closely monitoring the right-sided midfielder in January before signing Jermaine Pennant, but have yet to follow up their interest.

Larsson's agent Per Jonsson told The Sentinel: "There are a lot of clubs interested in Seb, especially in England, but I have not heard from Stoke.

"I'll sit down next week with Seb to discuss the situation and the deals we have on the table.

"His contract expires in June, so something will happen this month."

Stoke are likely to seek cover for their established wide-men Pennant and Matthew Etherington this summer as the club prepare for a fourth season in the Premier League, but this time with Europa League football too.

Larsson has been linked to Blackburn and Newcastle, but Sunderland appear to be emerging as favourites for the set-piece specialist.

Black Cats boss Steve Bruce was at the helm at Birmingham when Larsson moved to St Andrews from Arsenal in 2007 following a successful season-long loan.

Bolton's left-sided midfielder Matt Taylor has been linked with the Potters, having failed down to hold down a regular place in Owen Coyle's side.

Taylor was a second-half substitute in Stoke's 5-0 hammering of Bolton in the FA Cup semi-finals in April, but made his mark at the Britannia Stadium two seasons ago when his two late goals earned Coyle's side a 2-1 win.

The 29-year-old, who can also play at left-back, is also reportedly interesting West Brom and could be available for around £1.5m.

Taylor could expect a glowing report on the Potters from City midfielder Dean Whitehead.

He and Taylor are friends having played together in the same youth football team in Oxfordshire.

Meanwhile, Potters midfielder Salif Diao is to spend 10 days in Florida training with Stoke's sister club Orlando City.

    http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/new...3million-bid-article746375.html#ixzz1P0ekJK13

Stoke City have joined the race for Reading captain Matt Mills with a £3million bid.

The 24-year-old is in the final year of his contract at the Madejski stadium and has been the subject of a bid from Premier League rivals Wolves and interest from Blackburn.

Reading are desperate to keep hold of their totemic defender but Potters’ boss Tony Pulis believes the lure of joining a now established Premier League club will prove too strong to resist for Mills.

We've been linked with SWP in the past so wouldn't be surprised if we did try and get him as backup for the wing, but I imagine he'd be on massive wages.

    http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/not...t-Manchester-Citys-Shaun-Wright-Phillips.html

STOKE want to land Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips in a £4million deal.

The England international, 29, appeared just seven times for Roberto Mancini's side last season.

Potters chief Tony Pulis is seeking to end the former Chelsea star's Eastlands nightmare with a cut-price offer.

Wright-Phillips had a transfer request rejected in January after being linked with a move to Bolton.

According to reports Stoke City are muscling in on Bolton Wanderers moves to land Birmingham City marksman Cameron Jerome.

Wanderers boss Owen Coyle is keen on the forward but has had an initial bid rejected by City.

The Daily Mail claims the St Andrews outfit has rejected a £5 million bid from Wanderers.

This knock-back has appeared to have let in the Potters who are expected to make a move.

    http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-n.../stoke-and-napoli-fight-it-out-former-hammer?

Stoke and Napoli are locked in a battle to sign former West Ham forward Victor Obinna.
Obinna, 24, has left the east London club following their relegation into the Championship.
The Nigeria international failed to secure a regular first-team place at Upton Park following his season-long loan from Inter Milan and is keen to get his career back on track.
Tony Pulis is looking to strengthen his squad during the summer and was impressed with the performances of Obinna when he featured in the Premier League last season.
But he faces stiff competition from Napoli who have also been strongly linked with the talented forward and the two clubs will battle it out to clinch his signature over the next few weeks.
