You need massive bunkers built into hills, before the subs dock the nukes are stored elsewhere, so you need a loch/lake with hills all around. Faslane is a BIG facility and so is Coulport where the weapons are kept, you also need good access to another area where the conventional weapons are stored. Torpedos and the like.
