More than confident if getting a result at Napoli. We just need to sit back and target their **** defence with quick counters. Our defence can soak up the pressure.

Need to be winning the group, we're guaranteed to draw Bayern if we don't

I don't know the rules for the CL group stages, but with a 3 goal lead for Napoli our GD would be the same. What would be the deciding factor after points and GD?

We went from second gear down to first after the goal. Shame it was in the first minute as that made for a boring game! I was never bothered watching it as I felt we were in complete control and could have stepped it up whenever we wanted. 'Casual' was the word that springs to mind.

Still, we won, no apparent injuries, we remain top and only a 3-0 humping combined with a Dortmund win can put us out. Not a bad evening. Loving that our destiny is in our hands too.

Monreal was class, and we are well and truly covered in that position. In fact I feel sorry for Monreal as he deserves more game time and his current situation at Arsenal could cost him a place in Spain's squad for the World Cup.

It's based on head to head results first. We beat them 2-0, so they need to better that.

I still think he's a better defender than Gibbs, doesn't offer anywhere near as much going forward

So Chelsea are through but could finish first or second, a win guarantees them first. City are through and could still finish first or second but i can't see Bayern slipping up enough to lose top spot in that group in the last 2 games.

We're not through yet but anything other than a 3-0 or equivalent loss will result in our qualification and a draw will guarantee top spot.

Utd are top of there group but we will know more after there game tomorrow about there chances of qualification and whether they are likely to top there group or not.

I agree... but I prefer Gibbs because as you said, he offers more of an attacking impetus.

Thauvin was different class when he came on. Looks like a huge talent, and one we should keep an eye for the future.

Gibbs has played in 18 games this season and Monreal in 14. So he is getting a decent amount of game time. I know what you mean though. I think he will be used regularaly when we are closing out games in front of gibbs, he'll play whenever gibbs is injured and if gibbs loses form. So hopefully by the end of the season he has been used a lot. I think between our two LB's we have great options.

Hoddle the moron chatting utter **** on Sky. According to him we can 't play a defensive game and have no defensive minded players in midfield. <doh>

If the groups finished as they are currently i'm confident we could beat any of the teams in second who we could we drawn against over two legs.

Apart from AC Milan... I agree. On their day, they can be more than a handful.

    Evening gents. My take:

    - Chez was superb again, glad we gave him a new contract now, he's maturing into a fine goalkeeper
    - Monreal was solid and reliable as always
    - Give Sagna a new contract
    - Ozil's a waste of money at the moment, i will be proved wrong when he fully settles though
    - The game was boring as ****.

Yeah, we really should've left Wilshere out for Ryo right? LOL. Don't talk silly again please.
