Is Lionel Messi really the greatest player of all time?

IMO Messi isn't greatest player of his generation, let alone greatest ever.

 

Yes, who else is better? and don't say C. Ronaldo. The real Ronaldo could have been better had his knees been able to take the strain his skills were putting them through

No.

 

At the moment Ronaldo is much better than anyone else, and he was 2007/08 and other seasons where Messi seems to have been unfairly favoured. He is a great talent no doubt but I prefer Zidane/Ronadinho/Ronaldo/C.Ronaldo as players

Messi is the best currently, though only just.

Everybody seems to be bumming over C.Ronaldo suddenly because he scored a few while Messi is injured. Of course when Messi returns the shoe will likely be on the other foot.

It's hard to judge players by decades, never mind 'eras'.

Well that's hardly a surprise, you seem to be in love with him, you ****.

 

But how can you compare era's when there is too much conjecture, variables and intangibles to really compare players from different eras?

 

I don't trouble myself thinking about such things.

 

I think Ronaldo has been better this year due to injuries to Messi etc. I still think Messi is better, however.

Zidane was good, nowhere near as prolificly consistent as Messi, Ronaldinho when he was given the Ballon D'or stated he wasnt even the best player at Barcelona at the time (he was talking about Messi), Ronaldo could have been had his knees held together. As for C. Ronaldo

Its amazing how everyone is absolutely fapping over a C. Ronaldo hatrick against a very average Sweden side yet Messi rinsing, and scoring a hattrick, against a very good Brazil side recently barely got a mention and has been largely forgotten.
