Shola, Best, Lover, Ranger, Airey


i think its time for ameobi to move on and lover to take a more mentor-type of role

i think we should loan out ranger or Airey and that the two who stay deserve games.


If we sign one or two more strikers then we deffo need to think about getting rid of shola...

i know hes a bit of a legend, like a loveable idiot, but come on guys he shouldnt be getting in the side ahead of younger players who will perform no worse and who need the match experience much more.

Keep Best, Airey and maybe Lovenkrands (he plays well with Best). Ameobi can replace Doris the tea lady or something and Ranger should be loaned out for the full season.

I think we all need to face fact that we are stuck with Ameobi till he retires. Due to this I say that Loven has to go unfortunately. I don't think Ranger will be at the club at the beginning of the season, whether that will be through loan or transfer I don't know.

Whether to keep Airey or not depends on how many strikers we bring in.

 

Keep Shola until Sammy scores against the mackems.

 

Sell Shola & Lover, loan out Airey and sign two new strikers.

 

Keep Best as I think he has a role to play next season, dont know about anyone else but I want to see what this lad can do given a longer run of games, looks like he could turn out to be a real gem.

Sell/Release Lovenkrands, Goes missing during 90% of games and scores very little goals, same goes for Shola but we all know we're stuck with him till he retires.

Loan out Ranger, In my opinion theres some massive potential there and hopefully a year on loan at a championship/league 1 side will sort his attitude out.

Airey? Havent even seen him play apart from the odd reserves game, does he really deserve a mention yet?

Ideally to replace these players I wouldnt mind two potential quality signings from abroad, 1 big, 1 small, and a player with potential perhaps from the championship, Shane Long looks a good bet to me.

 

Let's not forget about Xisco!

Xisco, the forgotten man, everyone slates him but he was never given a chance, how old is he now 27-28?

 

25 this month apparently, would have been nice if he could have settled here and got a few more assists like the one against Vile.

Except I'm not too keen on Shane Long, I think he's no better than Best although he scored more goals than Best in the Championship but Best is more proven at this level with 6 in 11 which is impressive plus his work-rate & his ''all round game'' make him a threat for some PL defences. Definitely keep Best, sell Ameobi if possible, don't know about Lover, can't see Ranger playing a part next season if I'm honest with everything that's been reported & Airey is vastly unproven, loan him out to a SPL/L1 side to see how he does.

 

Well Shane Long was mostly just an example really but, I think his goal record was impressive last season, and isn't really a HUGE risk at the 4m price that was being chucked about.

 

True, true. 4m sounds about right. How about we give them Ameobi and Lovenkrands in a straight swap deal to get Long? No fee would be required.. Reading will have two very good CHAMPIONSHIP strikers with great experience & we'll get a good improving striker in Long?

Add Perch into the deal aswell if needed.. his ''versatility'' would be a useful tool for most Championship sides.

Has he really though? One tabloid claimed it and no one else ran the story, as far as I'm aware.

 

Lovenkrands into a player/coach role. Ameobi and Best back up. Get rid of Ranger his attitude stinks. Send Airey out on loan. Sign another striker.
(I couldn't imagine Shola in another teams colours, we can save him for Mackem games)

 

As much as Lovenkrands appears to be a decent guy, I'd hate to think he's passing on his 'abilities' to the rest of the team through coaching.
