I'm really going to bloody miss this guy. Especially seeing as how I can't watch WEC. Mark Webber may be lot of things, yes he's not as good a driver as Vettel, yes he's a bit old, but throwing all national bias and pride aside here, there's many great things about Mark I don't see in any other driver on today's grid and it's why i respect him more. He's definitely a champ to me and I don't care who thinks otherwise.

So cheers for everything Mark, let's make it a great final race, and it's time for a bloody drink champion <cheers>

The race pretty much summed up Webber's last few seasons, 2nd best to Vettel.

At least he can go out an really enjoy his racing. I think he'll suit sportscars very well.

Nice to see him driving round with no helmet at the end. Good luck to the guy with Porsche next year.

I like Mark because he's different from other drivers. I've always been impressed that he lives in Britain and not in some tax haven.

Hopefully the Porsche will be good, will be nice to see him carry on at the sharp end of the grid, albeit in a different category.

Depending on how I feel tomorrow I may or may not put up a full-on blog post in tribute to Mark. I've wanted to do one ever since he announced he was retiring, but I'm kind of shattered what with it being near the end of term at uni.

I certainly think it is fitting that he bowed out in good spirits, and perhaps even more so that his luck this season was just awful.

Great to see him go out with a fight his overtake on Hamilton was sensational. A down to earth and straight talking bloke who was bloody quick on his day, I'll really miss him not being in the sport any more.

Sad to see him go, but glad he had a podium finish. It's a shame Vettel didn't allow him to pass, would have been a nice gesture and a belated "multi 21"!

I just laugh when I see the words 'Mark Webber' and 'straight-talking' or 'no nonsense' in the same sentence.

I just laughed when I saw you posted in this thread and thought "Righto's let's see what he's got to send Webbo off". Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand......I'm disappointed. It's not up to your usual standard mate. Let's see if you can re-find your old form with Ricciardo.

I'm sure Miggins will appreciate the same straight-talking, no nonsense approach that all Aussie's have

meh, Aussies are full of ****, they're so 'multi-cultural' that even the UN, as long ago as 2011, denounced them is inherently racist, and since then they've kicked out their 'moderate' government and installed a xenophobic racist in a land-slide victory. Pretty much says it all really.

not all, but considering the vast majority of white australians voted for a known xenophobic rascist, who was campaigning with a predominantly xenophobic racist manifesto I can safely assume that they are xenophobic racists, otherwise he wouldn't have won in a landslide

You're hardly one to be calling us xenophobic racists. Does your hypocrisy know no bounds? By saying such BS it makes you just as bad. Or is it because we're "white Australians" so it doesn't matter?

You're not a race, you are a nation, quite ironically you're nation made up of immigrant European 'boat people'. but you're typical nationalistic denialist tbh, you know you're country is racist, it's impossible not to unless you walk around with your ears and eyes closed, the UN don't call countries racist for no reason, neither do AI. Even a highly respected Australian journalist, John Pilger, went as far as calling what goes on in his own country 'silent apartheid' and made a film about it, but rather than admit your nation is a ****ing disgrace where the human rights of non whites is concerned (you even went as far as rescinding all the common law rights of the aborigine people in 1998, which they still havn't got back) you pretend it's all lies. Did you know that more aborigine children are forceably removed from their homes and put into 'care' than were during the 60's and 70's? probably, but hey, they're just "stinking abo's" so it doesn't matter, right?

The UN, and pretty much every association dealing with racism, poverty, discrimination, human rights, says your country is racist, I guess there's a lot of liars out there.

Migs, I expect you know how it feels to live in a country which acts in ways you find abhorrent; I know I do. Nasty governments don't win real majorities and they don't win fairly either.

Edit: The Australian election was a another victory for Murdoch. And let's not forget the Australians who are forming national policy here in the UK, using the same old divide-and-rule tactics. There are a lot of similarities in the way both countries run.
