SBB, gotta say I agree with them. It wasnt cheating.
Thuggish, yes. ******ed, yes........but not cheating as it did not get Utd an advantage.

I really wish we could have one week where people are not moaning about refs and bad decisions they make.
This never used to happen. Have ALL the refs suddenly just turned **** or are people just over zealous dip****s these days?

You left out corruption. While not as prevalent as people claim it is a factor. Are we to believe corruption only happens in Germany Spain and Italy? I think not.

But otherwise referees are awful. I mean Mariner's penalty decision was exceptionally bad. The Wes Brown red card was a joke if you compare it to Mirallas and Rooney both getting yellow cards. For me though Mirallas only stayed on the pitch because Dowd was intent on not ruining the spectacle, which is basically deciding before the game what happens which is complete bollocks, Mirallas left stud holes in Suarez and cut Henderson above the eye with a swinging arm, at the very least 2 yellows, not including he committed 6 or 7 fouls, unbelievable that he managed to play the 90.
Some referees just bottle it, some are homers and some like Clutterbug who were in financial trouble as he was are susceptible to bribes from betting syndicates.

As well as all of that it is really beginning to look like the game has evolved to the point where one Ref cannot do the job without technology to be honest.

    Yeh true.
Some refs just lack the guts to send off players...

    Like Gerrard...

It's happened I am sure, it's not about Liverpool v United you troll, these things happened the last weekend of football, this is why they are mentioned you clown, mariner's penalty decision was a reference to poor decisions. Did Gerrard luckily avoid being sent off this weekend?

Duh UIR can't you actually debate anything in a logical coherent way?

Breaking up the opponent's counter attack with an illegal move is cheating in my book. If you are prepared to accept the consequences then that's fine, e.g. players who just walk straight off the pitch when they know they've taken one for the team. But if you are going to do like Rooney and hack someone down then swear blind to the referee you didn't even touch him then that is simulation and cheating.

last time i checked cheating would be breaking the rules of the game. i believe kicking somebody in frustration/anger/arousal whatever you want to pick as an excuse is still against the rules but don't let that stop you defending him :)

just for the record i have no issue with the ref missing it (although the fact he gave rooney a yellow means he saw atleast something right??) referee's are only human and he isn't the one trying to break a fundamental rule of not attacking/deliberately harming another player on the pitch.

tbh i really don't care what you think about the word cheating I'm just humoring you now :)

So anyone who breaks the rules of the game is a cheat? Anyone who gives away a free kick, stands in an offside position, or handles the ball is a cheat?

I can see now how you might think the whole Utd team is full of cheats...

    So, all fouls are cheating.

    Glad we cleared that up.

What about if you are offside and don't get the ball? Are you still cheating? What about if you are offside, get the ball, trip over it and kick yourself in the face. Still cheating? Or are you only cheating if you are good enough to score?

Seems quite biased against good players if you ask me...

P.S. Are you relieved that the referee stopped Cardiff from cheating their way to the PL in the 2010 play off final? I think it's shocking that your players would cheat in such an important game.

ahh you are missing the point of a giving a hypothetical example of breaking one of the rules you have mentioned.

The referee's are there to stop play when a cheating act may influence the game.

p.s i cannot type/say the word hypothetical anymore without hearing mourinho's voice in my head

Ah, I see. So your argument is entirely hypothetical and has no basis in reality. Now I understand.

So, hypothetically, would you have been utterly appalled if the referee hadn't spotted your players cheating in 2010 and you'd won the playoff final as a result?

Then you are not offside, unless you are interfering in play in some other way.

Yes you are. You are in an offside position, even if you are not committing an offside offence. Surely you can't decide whether a player is cheating or not based on whether their team mate passes the ball to them?

Being in an offside position is not a foul. Commiting an offside offence requires active involvement.

If you stand in an offside position then you will be committing a foul if your team mate passes to you, or if you gain advantage. Therefore if being caught offside is cheating then the only part the player controls: whether or not they stand in an offside position, must also be cheating, unless we're arguing that a player can be made into a cheat by the actions of their teammate.

If you are in an offside position and a team mate passes to you then you have the choice to let the ball run past you <doh>

Unless of course you don't realise you are in an offside position, which is the point I was hoping to make to the other guy.

valid point. so basically rooney didn't realise he was breaking the rules when he assaulted another player on the pitch.

you are getting more and more moronic with your argument the further you try to pursue me (please keep chasing - I like to make funnies!!! :emoticon-0102-bigsm )
