The technique in those two goals is unbelievable, would it of been worth the extra million or so to get him? It is looking like it now, don't get me wrong i would of been shocked at the time if we did pay what WBA wanted but man if we had him against Palace we would of won, and he would be worth it for that alone near enough.

I wouldn't say there's no chance in getting him, you don't know the nature of the dealing back on Deadline Day; Clarke and Bruce might have already agreed a deal for January as a compensation agreement. Contingency plan almost. As in a, "If there isn't time to sell him to you before the time's up, you can have him for x amount in January. It's all speculation until January.
