Hull gets some unfair and unjust claims to being "****e" nowadays ever since the 2005 survey which said it was the worst place to live. Ever since then, there's been vast improvements and it's, if I remember rightly, moved up around 20 places in the "Worst place to live" survey this time around.

It has bad areas (i.e. Orchard Park, Bransholme etc) but every City has bad areas.

The City of Culture Hull Bid Team, #HullYes, deserve a lot of credit because they've worked tirelessly ever since the running began. It brings with it some huge investment and will sure be a great place for tourists come 2017.

Hull suffered terrible damage in WW2 and did well to rebuild the city and housing most of which was lost. All credit to the city for reinventing itself. Good luck with the city of culture hope it draws lots of visitors and the people of the city benefit from it <ok>

we've heard all the lazy negative cliches about us before mostly from the London-centric tossers - sorry, 'journalists' - who write their crap having never ventured beyond Watford, we really don't care anymore. You've had it too, funny sentimental thieving scousers the lot of ya. Us northern working cities should stick together. Two cultural & historical powerhouses on either end of the M62 - who'da thought it.
A few xmas's ago, one very frosty morn I saw a young guy emerging from my shed looking frozen stiff, I invited him in & he said he was from Birkenhead & on the run (robbing a jewellers - been on crimewatch he said) just went as far as he could along the M62. Gave him tea to warm him up & he pocketed my mrs's watch cheeky twat, got it off him & sent him on his way...were's the gratitude? You're all the same!
    I'm a Wilberforce too.
I used to have an Everton shirt back in the 60's & my ex Mrs is from Anfield.
Never liked the Beatles or Jimmy Tarbuck tho.
    The Bunnymen were ok

Why wasn't Jesus born in Merseyside?

Because God couldn't find three wise men and a virgin.

Scouse parents teach their children not to mock the afflicted and disadvantaged so that's the reason why we don't slag Hull off.
