The referee has ruined a World Title fight. You simply have to let a fight at that level finish completely. If Groves was in trouble then he has to be allowed the chance to recover, Froch was given the opportunity to clear his head on a few occasions. A re-match has to happen and next. Froch will not want Groves again.
Most people will be happy to see a rematch, the fight was a cracker, its just a shame about the ending.
Howard Foster was payed-off by Eddie Hearn for exactly that reason. A truly disgusting display from the referee. Froch should have been deducted at least a point for punching after the referee shouted to stop... although Foster knew what he was going to do so it made no difference.
Froch didn't just do it the once either. Just sent this to a mate: I watched it last night. Groves was in the lead but Froch had started to make a comeback and get the better of him IMO. It was definitely stopped too soon but I reckon Froch would have finished him off in that round anyway. Point is, the fighters should have been left to it so we could find out. I loved the Rocky IV thing with Groves though; entered the ring to boo's and left to a standing ovation lol. Surely Froch can't get out of a rematch here? Its the most nailed on rematch of all time! Also, Froch moaned about groves the man afterwards but he could learn a thing or two from George considering class, manners and genuine behaviour. He wasn't boo'd because of the fight result (that was the ref's decision), he was boo'd because his attitude after the fight stank!!!
Foster had favourited a tweet before the fight that Froch would win in the 9th. Now i ain't saying the fix was in, but.....
Groves should go without this fight for his own good. I think he's got credibility now but a defeat could set him back to square one. For info too - Big news about Khan on the way, if it all comes out his career is finished. Tomorrow.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/boxing/25883588 I think Groves will have seen the mistakes he made after Round 6 and rectify them. I'm confident he'll beat Froch this time - Carl is running out of steam a little bit now and his confidence will not be as high as it was entering the first fight.
