I can see and totally accept what you're saying. One thing I would ask though, is if you can ignore the ones you speak of by not posting at all but just reading, couldn't you equally ignore them and post?
Nonsense, they're football spies picking out the great knowledge and wisdom we all posses. FACT...<<< and we all know THAT means its true.
I read most threads but don't post in all that many tbh, a lot of the time a point I would make has already been made, so don't bother rewriting it, I'd just press like. On the registered users with no posts, when you're not logged in you get a lot of adverts and if it's busy it just kicks you off, so that could explain those?
It's quite interesting reading some of these responses. I'd welcome more people posting, even if they only feel the need to post once a month, the more that contribute, the better the board will be.
The language doesn't bother me, but the same 20 or 30 posters winding each other up into righteous indignation day after day can sometimes wear a bit thin
First post. Been a city fan for over forty years. Discovered this site as a good way to get all the latest gossip. I only actually joined when it was locked out to guests during one of the transfer windows. As others have said I don't have a lot of time to get into debates and usually when I have something to say someone beats me to it and says it more articulately. Also the abuse can be offputting sometimes. Actually that wasn't too bad. Maybe I will join in more.
But I don't know what anyone could do about it. Short of a 'ceasefire' that no one would honour anyway. Whichever side of the argument you're on these are trying times for the club so I can understand passions running high, but for those of us standing outside it's like looking over the swinging doors at a Wild West bar and seeing the gun fire and glasses flying. Why would you go in?
I don't know, it frustrates me. I don't understand why they can't just accept I'm right in the first place. To be fair, there's an amount of it that is simply jousting and badinage, but I guess sometimes it can look daunting if you're not of that ilk.
There are strong dislikes on a personal level here going back to a period when a few too sensitive subjects were allowed to be debated. The two key threads were the Lee Rigby (god bless) and Margaret Thatcher thread, too many people revealed their cards, you can still see the aftermath of those topics and I doubt that will ever change now. It's one thing disagreeing about something trivial like the name change or who had a good game or whether its a red card or a penalty or whatever, but when people's personal beliefs conflict and those personal beliefs are targeted and attacked by others those things will stick and pave the way for more skirmishes. I don't know if its really fair to blame the mods for that as they were big topics at the time and rightly people wanted to discuss them, but it was obvious what would and did happen and maybe they could have been stopped before they did.
Some decisions are wrong whichever way they go. Sometimes doing nothing's the wrong decision. All we can hope is to learn and move on.
I registered some time ago but had a computer crash, lost my username and password and so have not even one post to my name.I am a regular viewer of the site but have never bothered re-registering because many threads are ruined by the name calling which goes on, swearing I don't particularly mind but some of the insults traded are at best childish and some are downright nasty and go too far. The reason I have re-registered is because I would like to join in the debate about the future of our great club. I am totally against the name change, our history may be undistinguished but its ours.Just an opinion but Hull tigers (shudder) be a new club. I never wanted the council to sell the ground to Mr. Allam, I have supported City for over 50 years and have got rather cynical about owners and their promises.Whether Mr. Allam leaves or stays is his choice, I hope he stays but moderates his bully-boy tactics.I back Steve and the lads 100% but if we do get relegated I will enjoy the championship. A bit long-winded for a first post, sorry about that.
I've been om here since feb 2011 But don't post THAT much, I regularly read it all though during the week, usually too busy/frazzled to make a contribution
