I think he's been getting more grief than di Resta around here lately and he has deserved it. I think there's a bit of a difference in that there's always been a humorous element to the di Resta stuff but not with Maldo. He may not mean it but Pastor's recent behaviour comes across as if he's got £30m backing and he can behave as he likes. I hope he can redeem himself next year with some results because I've almost forgotten why I thought he was good.
He managed a record that Vettel will never get I'm sure thats hurting Vettel deep down, much like the F3 loss to di Resta.
Adrian Newey is currently working on time travel so Vettel is not that worried. He will get back to those records later
Seb did make me smile trying to play down that the records are important to him or comparable to past times etc... But also it showed a degree of self-awareness that I didn't think he had
Lol how true! I remember there being some debate of Kimi last year with finishing a lap down in Brazil, yet Max has done worse than that in most if not all of the races. I actually think he should be reprimanded on his engine allowance for using all 8!
He couldn't beat a rookie team mate at Williams, I think he'll get murdered if he moves to Lotus, Grosjean is fast turning into one of the better drivers on the grid, I expect (hope) he can break into the Winners circle next year.
To be fair whenever Williams were **** Maldonado completely destroyed Bottas and it was only when the car was good that he had a bad weekend, although Bottas got more points I think Maldonado had the better season by far. If he goes to Lotus I can't see him beating Grosjean but I think he'll be close to him, he's clearly talented enough to be in a decent team, if he wasn't against Hulk for that seat I'm sure we'd be saying it would be great to have him there.
I agree with this but I don't think it's just the Hulk thing, it's Maldo's temperament that puts people off him personally and also puts in doubt his ability to mount a consistent challenge over the course of a season; rare moments of brilliance won't be enough.
He is our modern day Andrea de Cesaris. Blindingly fast one day, unfathomably slow the next, then drives round like a bulldozer if he's in a crap mood.
I can't remember which pundit was saying this yesterday but Maldo and Boullier go back a long way and I have a feeling Eric may know how to handle him better but he really needs to get a grip on himself first.
so, let me get this straight, when Mark Webber bitches about his team he's being honest and straightforward (depsite there not being one shed of proof to back Webber at all, apart from whatever **** Webber has said into a camera), but when Maldonado does it it shows he has no class and a poor temperment Talk about nationalistic double standards
I doubt it, I'll probably have to put up with his whining from the commentary box from time to time next year, I can't see Webber giving up the opportunity for some media machavellianism when offered, which th ebeeb probably will.
Yes, I think you're right and Mark's lucky in this respect because English is his native language and he can finesse his message. But Maldo still has a problem with his temper. Also, Mark has a following from all his career, something Pastor doesn't have.

Ferrari 2014 to drop pull rod suspension according to Autosprint. The Ferrari 2014 will almost certainly give up the pull rod suspension at the front to return to the classic push rod as have all the other F1 (apart from McLaren). It will be very different, even aesthetically, from the current F138 because of the new regulations in terms of nose (and engines) and will return to be developed in the wind tunnel in Maranello that was stopped two years of renovation works. Although the team will continue to use that one in Cologne (belonging to Toyota). please log in to view this image
Why is it that no-one can get pull-rod working if it is theoretically faster? Is it like the nuclear fusion of F1 or something?
Hulkenberg set for Force India after Sauber turns him down Nico Hulkenberg looks set to be with Force India next year after apparently failing in an attempt to stay at Sauber. While the German signed a deal with Force India some time ago he had until the start of this week to make a final decision on whether to proceed – a logical move, given that the Lotus deal was still open to him. However, Pastor Maldonado has finally agreed to join the Enstone team. Meanwhile in the light of the recent improvement in form Nico enquired about staying with Sauber. It’s believed that he was told on Sunday that it would not be possible, leaving him committed to Force India. Despite his good performance on track he has apparently fallen out of favour off it, presumably by not only agreeing the deal with Force India, but also paying a visit to Lotus prior to the US GP, which included a seat fitting. Force India is keen to have Hulkenberg back on board despite being snubbed in favour of Sauber in the middle of 2012. With Sergio Perez likely to join Hulkenberg at Force India it looks increasingly likely that Adrian Sutil will leave and eventually end up Sauber. The identity of his team mate remains the missing piece in the transfer jigsaw, as it appears that the team is unlikely to keep Esteban Gutierrez. Sauber’s Mexican sponsorship deals have now come to an end, and sources say that the team is looking elsewhere. As noted here on Monday the name of Jules Bianchi has been mentioned, but both Marussia and the Frenchman’s management have denied that it would be possible. Round and round we go. Really do hope we get Hulk and Perez at Force India, I'm a fan of both of them and have a unexplainable soft spot for FI. I think as mid teams go Hulk and Perez is a heck of a lineup
I think Force India is the better option tbh. though they do have the heavy merc... I would also welcome a battle against Perez in the team to see who is the best of the former Sauber drivers.
