If you are going with easyJet I hope they make a better job of getting you home than they did for Barney!
I hope so too! Flights booked for the morning of the game, taking off from Gatwick at 7:10am. Cant be having any of these dodgy delays!
Never had trouble with Easyjet. Even when Gatwick was snowed in and lots of flights cancelled, we were only delayed 2 hr. They are now the main carrier from Gatwick now BA have moved to Heathrow so they get priority. Had a lovely new plane in May; the pilot made us admire it before he took off!
I was looking at Hammonds wifes twitter account last night and it appears that they knew about the trip as far as the 10th Apr when she wrote than Deans away on a pre season tour from the 4th-18th July
Im seriously thinking about this preseason trip, was looking for a cheap holiday with a couple of mates before uni anyway, You got any more details?
Don't think Switzerland is cheap, but I bet you'd love it. Go push the boat out..except they're landlocked.
Thats exactly what i'm doing North London. I know the flights have gone up around a fiver now for the day of the game, but we've got a hostel in Biel for one night costing £25. I believe the train from Zurich to Bern and then onto Biel comes to around £15 but not sure as my mate is dealing with that. Hopefully they will announce another game on the Saturday following this one as I will do that too, but need the club or other sources to announce it soon as I need to book flights and trains etc. The longer they leave it the more expensive it becomes
Yeah its pretty pointless booking it until the club confirm. Kinda takes the piss tbh. Do they want an away following? Whats the nearest airport? ive saved up around £700 from work to fund my summer, so id budget around 300, plus id get more money anyway to the trip. so roughly around £400, would that be enough or would it be more?
Well theres an airport in Bern (about 40 miles away from the game) but no flights from the UK seem to go there for cheap. So you've got to choose between Basil and Zurich. I've chosen Zurich as its only about an hour and a half train journey from Beil. If you want to do the one game on the wednesday, say go wednesday morning and come back thursday evening, your looking at £180 at the lowest. If they announce another game and wanted to do that, which I aim to do. I'm hoping for it to be just under £400 as you'd have to stay for about 4 nights and with food/drink etc. But it depends on where the next game would be and how much travel and costs of hotels would be. Although this is just an estimate I hope that helps in some way.
Thanks, thats actually helped alot, Money isn't too much of an issue because i can always do extra shifts, just im not the most organised person in the world. Wouldnt the team be at a training complex aswell, last year i thought people came to watch them aswell. Looking up prices for Hostel's in Zurich, quite pricey but it would be better there as Mates are not saints fans and would also want to admire the night life which according to reviews is meant to be quite good. The old town is the place to be apparently. So it would be train to Beil then back to Zurich. Then seeing as its the biggest city im sure we could get a train to the second game aswell.
I haven't rang the club as of yet, although i will soon, not sure how much they will be able to release to me though. And i believe they did have a camp last year, although im not too sure where that was situated. Cannot wait for this summer now, looking into other things we can do there during our stay!
