I think he likes being top dog and Suarez' return has taken him out of the limelight a bit. That's ok, imo, it should spur him on. Most of the top strikers are greedy to a degree and it's easy with hindsight to point out where they should have passed if their solo effort doesn't result in a goal. No-one's ever going to get it right all the time, but his goals tally suggests he doing ok. It was a bloody relief he got one when he did yesterday, and not for the first time this season. He's said himself that people misunderstand his expression when they think he's grumpy. I've no idea whether or not that's true, but I'm not going to turn on a man who's been the main instrument of our success so far this season, because of a few rumours.
I think part of our problem over the past few years is that we bought players who don't have the right attitude - players who just weren't used to the huge expectations that come with playing for a club like LFC. For all of Sturridge's faults, one thing you can't knock him for is his self belief and desire to be the top man at this club. He's not shying away from it.
I wondr if playing 433 with Suarez to the left will help. Suarez will score goals from any where. Moses on the other side. Or Coutinho.
as long as they keep doing their talking on the pitch and getting us points needed i am not that bothered, we have bigger attitude problems with players who think they have already made it and being paid silly money ie mainly youngsters into todays game. if we have a pair of ****s up front, so be it, just get us in the CL or even better?
I'm with you - players will act like tw@s, they will show no loyalty etc etc. Enjoy them whilst they're still here and get the best out of them! One thing is for sure - the likes of Suarez and Sturridge will be leaving for double what we paid for them!
He's still a young player - hopefully he will learn from people like Gerrard about how to conduct himself
In the wake of our loss to the convicts in the first test, I think RHC is just making **** up to help him deal with it... He's a young lad still, with his current form getting him into the England team and with the WC next year, he wants to make sure he's on the flight to Rio, hence his eagerness to play in the game against Germany, this may have led to a niggle or two that prevented him from training as much as he should have done before the derby, I'm sure words will have been had (if not already) and it's water under the bridge.. #movealong #nothingtosee
Good He needs to realise that Rodgers took a punt on him when no one would. He got to play in his preferred position, evening moving Suarez to one side to begin with when no one else would have done. He needs to just get his head down and bang in the goals or help others in the team to score/defend. He won't do he WC hopes any good if he goes off the boil between now and May..
