    Here's a reason.
The owner wants to attract investment and believes that a name change will bring it about and no one has put any alternative to him.
There is no proposal in front of him.
No alternative name change that would have the same effect.
No viable market research to prove him wrong.
There is no credible evidence to show him that the club will lose income from the fan base.
Here's a fact, the number of supporters who stop supporting the club will be less than the numbers who want to buy tickets when Liverpool and ManU play here. Even if we where called Tesco Tigers the gate would be high, why because all of the plastics who cannot get to see the big teams will come and fill the vacant seats. That's why people with money who know nothing about football invest in clubs like ours.

So until someone does speak to Assem Allam or does provide the alternatives, nothing changes.

Posting the solution on here is not going to get anyone anywhere is it?

Judging by this I'd suggest I was more like 10 times your age, young man. Now off to bed with you, you're Milk monitor tomorrow, don't forget!

I think most people can accept this even if we disagree about the name change not being important.

It's when you start saying the CTWD campaigners wouldn't be there in League 2 with no evidence other than you don't really like the campaign, that I pull you up on it.

    =====================

I just don't want him to sod off and for the club I love to nose dive back to the old days of no hope. No money and next to no fans

That's the second day in a row you've resorted to making daft jibes about me being a child after I've pointed out your argument is nonsense.

Why is this argument more important to you than the club? We've all been wrong before, I don't see why a few of you can't just admit that you were previously wrong on this topic instead of continuing to argue such ridiculous points. No matter what happens with this name change you just find soem daft little thing to argue the toss out of and the cycle goes on...

I don't come on here very often cos I have this silly, preconceived notion that it's full of fannies who would sell their grannies to be in the "EPL".

I'll pop by again in another 6 months :azn:

Well actually, sonny, you're the one who mentioned age just a couple of posts ago, so if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen (if you've not heard that before, ask your Dad).

But in all sobriety I find your thought patterns and writing style infantile. Quite frankly you really aren't capable of maintaining a coherent argument. I mean, that earlier tirade where Fez, who God knows has little reason to support anything I might say, intimated how childish your behaviour was.

I would suggest you take time-out to consider whether debating is something you are cut out for.

I don't get why people think if Allam left we'd end up in League 2.

One he wants his money back and two a new owner could be as rich or even richer.

OK - the notion was/is good; but obviously the negotiation wasn't.

Perhaps you could expand on this, or is it just your normal, pathetic wumming?

I think you have made a good point, as I was and still am in favour of the Walton St development. What has changed for me is that I can no longer trust AA with the outright ownership of the club's stadium - any ability to own would have to include protective covenants to ensure the club is protected.

MR Allam would never agree to that though as it would drastically reduce the chances to mortgage it

Does anyone seriously believe that MR Allam will risk bankrupting his other companies, which have been used to finance the takeover of Hull City's loans by withdrawing from the club ?

There would be two losers, both the football club, but more importantly he would lose more

If nothing else MR Allam is driven by money & for that reason alone there is no chance he will walk away, and equally as the only way to guarantee his money will be repaid we need to remain in the Premiership so he will continue to invest

How much is the soul of a club worth?

Portsmouth is often cited as a club to model support by. But they have played as Portsmouth Football Club and Portsmouth City Football Club and back to Portsmouth Football Club, in modern history. Did the name change effect their gate?

I have stated on here many times that I am against the loss of City from the playing name.
