It's not just the recent results its just the absolute sh*te football. I am well used to Spurs getting thumped and feeling let down over the years but at least there would always be the odd great performance and result in there. We have probably had about 90 minutes in total this season of decent stuff. 6 goals in 12 matches from open play is absolutely pathetic.
He may as well go 4-4-2 against United at home next week. I could see us losing 1 or 2 nil otherwise and I would rather lose going for it than another toothless pathetic home match where we dominate possession but create nothing.
I don't expect anything from the game so we may as well go for it.

Disappointed about today's game? Yes. Vindicated in my view of AVB? Definitely. Angry? Nah, I remember a time when I used to get very animated about Spurs but age has taught me nothing's going to change. I made my bed so I have to lay in it. More important things in life!

Exactly where I'm at mate. It's been years since we've won anything, but it hurts more that the football is now so bad after being so good.
If the football had to suffer a bit in order to get the results, then fair one. But the football has COMPLETELY suffered and the results are now too. A few recent ones have been humiliating.

The problem is, as I see it, that Levy was the main advocate of appointing AVB. I can't imagine that Joe Lewis is too impressed with that decision so far! So, does sacking AVB mean that Levy's position is under threat too?

For me, I wasn't totally against the idea of Harry going. I think he'd taken us as far as he was capable of. I was very much against the appointment of AVB, but once it was done, I said o.k. Let's at least give him a chance. Well, he's an inch away from having ****ed up his chance, IMO. I am most definitely not impressed.

Will he be gone by Xmas. It 's entirely possible if results do not dramatically improve - as in now!.

flaspur, I too am vindicated by my views about our form earlier in the season. We are a team on this measure only one goal better than Norwich. I still think that these players can come good but maybe only under a different coach.

ENIC are a business, and if Joe Lewis thinks that Levy is not cutting it on the
chairman/team aspect, no doubt they would agree to get someone more suited while
Levy focuses on those things not related to on-pitch matters (transfers/wages, new WHL etc) .

  11. Is it time for me to resurrect my "AVB is a clown" thread that everyone laughed at, last season?

Levy needs to get on the phone to Hiddink, now.

He says he won't go for another job til the summer, but minds can be changed, we'd be foolish not to enquire.

Don't suppose the Bale money will trigger Klopp's release clause?

The media vendetta against Cole, Lampard, Drogba and Chelsea senior players in general masked over his shortcomings but he really shouldn't be judged by what he did at Chelsea. No manager can truly succeed in that environment.

In AVB's defence, he's lost a number of top quality players in Bale, Modric and VDV. Any side would suffer losing that quality.

I've got my opinion on AVB and lots know it but when I saw Chelsea youth & senior players public view on him as a manager that said it all.

This isn't the time for a poll like this though, it's not fair to do it after a heavy defeat where tensions are high.

    You're spot on though.

I wouldnt be surprised if Levy acts before xmas, today was a complete and utter shambles and we have been ordinary all season. What will be will be, but AVB needs to go back to basics and get us some results, 442 with wingers on the correct sides because 4231 is not working at all.

Having said that, we were always odds on to lose away to City but we are still only 2 points off our target of 4th. But the manner of the defeat has pressure on AVB.

AVB lost me after the Lloris head injury debacle. He lied to cover his back, he lied in an attempt to blame the medical staff and he lied to the fans in a pathetic attempt at saying what we saw was not what really happened.

He was very fortunate in my opinion to get away with that and for me, that was sufficient for me to want him out. Realistically though, he was never going to get the boot just on that incident, but the signs have been there publicly for some while that all is not well.

For example, already this season we have had public moans from Dembele, Defoe, Huddlestone, Vertonghen to name a few. Minor moans maybe, but out in the public domain nonetheless.

Personally I believe he will be given until at least January, but he has to get a reaction to this drubbing today and he has to give evidence of flexibility in this ludicrous system he seems obsessed with.

If he does leave, Baldini will obviously be important in hiring the next manager. Which hopefully means he has deleted capello from his speed dial as having him after Avb would tip us over the edge!

  19. Remember how I ripped the piss out of your Chelsea boys during the dark days of AVB's reign (of terror) at CFC?

Quite rightly, you ripped the piss back when we hired him. From the very start, he divided opinion among Spurs fans, with half holding their heads in wonder and shame, and the other half decrying him to be the Saviour reborn.

The other half did not "decry him to be the Saviour reborn" - the other half said, correctly, that he had been harshly treated at Chelsea and that his good, nay excellent, previous season with Porto should not be ignored.

I realise we're all annoyed but let's not exaggerate things too much.
