I don't expect Nigel Pearson to drop Andy King any time soon ... King is the type of player that fans don't always appreciate ... but coaches do, because they see how much work they do etc ... but we'll see.

Matty James and Danny Drinkwater will defiantly start next week and I reckon Dean Hammond could keep his place alongside them or Nigel might bring Knockaert striaight back in and go 442. I cant see King starting next week

David McGoldrick has impressed me alot since he signed for Coventry. He did very well there and he has continued that form since he signed for Ipswich. We are all saying we want a striker so could he be one to watch?

that's the beauty of football forums ... we'll just have to see ... but AK has been an ever present ... and Nigel does seem to persist with players even if some of us think they are not playing well / are out of form ... David Nugent being the prime example <whistle>

Difference being King has people behind him pushing him for his place. The player who replace him just played a major role in turning a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 victory

Nugent has 10 goals and 5 assists. Thats more goals then Vardy and Wood put together. As I said earlier Nugent hasnt been that bad this season but he should be doing better but he doesnt deserve to be made into a scapegoat

David Nugent made his 100th appearance for us today and he has scored 42 goals for us. Not too bad then

Not a bad ratio... people forget, if these strikers were top top drawer they would be in the premier, not with us in the championship....its nice to see danny graham is picking up tips from prossie..on how to develop a barren run..., <ok>

    I hate Nugent.... <wah>

I knew he would score against us again!

Well done btw we should have had it dead and buried by half time but you showed some good football in the second and deserved your win. <ok>

Nugent took his first superbly. Did very well not to sky it. Great play from Dyer for both goals aswell

I'll show my age now ... I was at school with Tommy Williams (although he was 5 years older than me) - and I played against both Andy Peake and Gary Lineker <laugh>

    Good Post <ok>

I think I am right when I say that Russell Osman signed for Leicester from Ipswich.

I used to love going to Filbert Street back in the "Good Old Days" I will never forget us beating Leeds in a pulsating FA Cup replay at Filbert Street.

Back to the game yesterday and I have to say that Leicester were the worthy winners but it hurt even more because it had to be Nugent that scored the goals! <grr> Your left winger? Dyer had our Right Back on toast all game and it was hardly surprising once we had missed some great chances that you would come into the ascedency as the game wore on! I was so desperate near the end that I was praying for a Snow Storm! <laugh>

Any side with a slow right back will get destroyed by Lloyd. If you can match his pace he is largely ineffective.

I agree. I think James has certainly earned a call up while King looks like he needs a rest. If you don't allow players to stay in the team when they've earned it, they will begin to lose focus. James was replaced because of injury and never picked again because we were winning. He's now come in and done a job so we have to stick with him and it's King's turn to show how badly he wants in and wait for his chance. Best way to keep a squad hungry.

I read that he´s scored 13 in 12 games v ITFC. Not sure if that was 13 in 12 games v ITFC at IT´s ground or in total, but yeah, I can understand your frustration regarding Nuge with stats like that.

Good luck for the rest of the season (apart from the return game that is :emoticon-0102-bigsm)

He used to live near me at the top of Goodes Lane in Syston (I lived in St. Paul´s Drive) . I used to see him in his garden on a Sunday when I was doing my car washing rounds. I believe he became a postie after hanging up his boots. Could be wrong though. My next door neighbour used to drive the coach for the team sometimes aswell, back in the 80´s that is.

This is why I didn't (and still don't) think Nugent should have started ahead of Wood.

Yes hindsight is 20/20 but Wood earnt the spot more than Nugent and he wasn't rewarded.

Fair play to Nugent for scoring the goals to win the game but he needs to show it wasn't a one off and not to repeat his Watford and Forest performances.

... I went to those replays - they were the days when it went to a neutral ground after two draws ... my recollection was that there was more than one game at Filbert Street ... similar for Arsenal against Sheff Wed ... went down to all of those too...

I'd agree ... but fair play to Pearson he stuck with it and it paid off on this occasion ... and again, that's why I expect King to keep his place ... he balances nicely with either James or Drinkwater because he is more offensively minded ...
