Groves deserved his cheers big style but to boo Froch was baffling for me. Especially when he was the first to mention a rematch to give groves another go.

It was no disgrace at all, if you watch the replays Groves was gone and Froch could have damaged him. I thought the last round and a half Groves was starting to lag and Froch was starting to up his game. Groves was ahead of Froch on points and put in a fantastic performance. The fact is though he gave everything he had and couldn't put Froch away, Froch was coming into his own and it only looked a matter of time before Froch won the fight. If it had of went the distance Groves would have got it, but it didn't.
It was a disgraceful stoppage, he was still throwing punches back and defending himself. If he'd gone down he'd have had the count to recover and then see the round out. He was ahead on the cards and would have known he had to box clever till the final bell. Its just as likely that Froch would have walked onto a right hand in the closing rounds as he went for the stoppage. I said all along Groves would drop Froch with the right hand and fancied him to win. Unfortuanwtky because of the ref we'll never know what would have happened. I've seen fighters recover from far worse and go onto win. YouTube the Diego Corales v Castillo first fight. Corales was down 4 times then when it looked like he was gone caught castillo with a peach of a shot and then landed a flurry to.stop the fight. Its a world title fight you have to give the fighters every opportunity. A learning curve for Groves and he proved he's world level. He'll be world champion without a doubt. I dont know what fight is right for Froch if there isn't a rematch. Andre Ward would beat him easily
A fight can change from round to round though mate. he deserved the same chance that Froch got - ie, go down, take the count and try and hold on till the end of the round. The fact Froch got a "8" count and Groves didn't even get a "1" count is a disgrace.
I think people are talking about the stoppage as if it was a semi-pro match or the fighter's first pro fight. This was a WORLD TITLE FIGHT, you simply must give every chance for it to continue.
Exactly, if its an upcoming prospect knocking a journeyman around yeah stop it but this was two world level fighters.
You would think an experienced ref would know this. Was it a Barry Hearn promotion? More money to be made with a rematch.
sorry there is no way that should have been stopped. Round 8 is a disgrace to the sport, in fact froch is a dirty bastard, elbows, forearms, punches after the bell, rabbit punches every dirty trick in the book, he's still hitting him when the ref has stopped it, what a cnut! no respect for that man whatsoever anymore. The ref did not grab an out of it groves, he grabbed a groves. Stinks to high heaven, no ****ing way should that have been stopped! i wont be paying to watch a re-match thats for sure. agree with everybody on this thread that said the same 100% in the sober light of day, disgraceful (corrupt) stoppage

Thought you meant warren shot hearn until I read it again. Was going to ask if youd had a stroke!!! Warren is king of the scum (promoters). The slimiest bastard about. Allegedly it was a former fighter of his (dont recall his name) who's career he mismanaged but it was never proven.
I am a Froch fan but even I think its was a terrible decision by the ref. I think Froch would have gone on to win the fight, in fact what has happened might be the best result for Groves. If the fight had continued and Froch had won in the 11th or 12th there would be no rematch. This way Groves gets a 2nd chance at it. The fans will all be on his side and to be honest I think he has a good chance of winning. This will take him to the next level and IMO a fight with him and Ward would be very interesting.
