AA has loaned £66m; but I don't know what the share structure is, do you? It could be 1 x £1 share, or whatever....
The choice is Hull City AFC or some comic plastic title- don't be conned into accepting this false choice that AA is presenting.
He who pays the piper calls the tune. The players are paid by Hull City Tigers Ltd. So are the rest of the club staff..
If the club goes under. I know who I'll blame. They all sit around me in the East Stand and they'll all full of booze, bravado and about five brain cells between them. ****ing sad..
My apologies. That was very poor. My point about CTWD was a general one based on the action of one of their members. I concede that probably wasn't fair of me. However I have formed my opinion from what was written by that member and I see no reason to change my mind.
True it is loan but in reality one that is not going to be re-paid. I based my back-of-a- ***-packet figures on AA capitalising the loan into shares and £10m being between 10-15% of that unknown capital figure. My point though was how many fans would be in a position to contribute to a Fan's Trust to make a difference. Would you part with £2 grand and if so would there be another 4999 to do the same ?
Why is the choice between Hull Tigers or Hull City and a winding up order? Why does that have to be the choice, the people who think the club are going to get wound up and just idiots, why would AA throw away his money? The only way he is ever going to get his money back is by keeping us in the Pl, and making us self sufficent, and then selling us on. Or keeping us in the Pl and just ticking over and selling us on with someone paying off the debt to him.
Mr. Allam could always do what he promised - do some proper market research into the financial benefits or otherwise of changing the name and then explain why it would benefit us all. When there is no-one in football, business, marketing or any other field yet to come out in support of his idea it would suggest it may be wrong. It simply isn't possible to run a football club on insular business principles built in a totally different environment, his admission that he knows nothing about football only endorses this.
I thought the thread was about Allam walking away if he doesn't get his own way, my thoughts are that he definitely won't, unless someone buys him out completely Yes Lambo, I remember when he attempted that, but that doesn't mean to say that he would have, in any way, shape or form, relinquished his right to make autonomous decisions. AA is obviously a maverick, any business maverick that I've ever encountered, whether they court investment from others or not, do not give up the right to autonomy, and if there is even the slightest hint that they may lose their autonomy then the investment falls by the wayside, ultimate power is more important than investment to people like that. Oh, and you're assuming we'd be in a far better place, let's be right about that
Unfortunately, there are some people who, if they can't get their own way, will do everything in their power to make sure that nobody else can either....
I think the awkwardness many feel about your posts is you are wordy and seem to have awarded yourself intellectual status. We are embarrassed that you went through our education system and turned into an arrogant delusioned distasteful fool.
This has been debated on message boards and in the press for months. Some people may be unclear as to what its all about but the majority know. Assem Allam wants to call us Hull Tigers. We want to keep the name Hull City. Yesterday showed how many people thought dropping the word City and replacing it with the word Tigers is a good idea. The reason why they sang and boo'd is because it is part of their identity. Yesterday I was the only person in our block who san the correct end to Wise men say. Perhaps you can understand why I sang it and nobody else did. Most of the people I stand with gave me a dig and a laugh. I agree about the finances but changing the name won't bring in £70 million. It is unlikely to bring in anything more than we could get by pushing The Tigers in Asia. The problem we face is how to repay Assem Allam's children when the time comes for them to collect their inheritance. If we don't address this problem now we'll may face a long slow decline if his children take the money they are entitled to out of the club.
Like banging your head against a brick wall. Why do we have to have a name change? There is no proof it will generate more money or investment. There has been no research done to back up the name change. This is an owner who hates the Council so much he stopped us welcoming back the team to the City they represent. If everyone just rolls over and accepts this then what will he do next. I am worried about where all this will end up and I want it to remain a peaceful protest. Every time I see Hull Tigers it just makes be feel sick its so naff, its taking the shine off the football. Why can't he find someone at the council he can work with. From his TV and radio rants he is obviously a very hard character to negotiate with. Why continually put the blame on the fans for what is happening at the moment. All we every wanted was to have a successful football team in the Premier League, none of us wanted all this.
Sorry - I wasn't being smart-arsed - just wondered how you were arriving at the share figure. Maybe 5000 x £2k isn't possible, but I don't know how Swansea is capitalised either.
