AVB has swallowed his pride and got Ade back in, time to recall BAE if at all poss. Lloris did mess us up at the start, and to be fair to AVB he started with a positive line up that I was keen to see. Hope it hasn't burnt us to much and we go all defensive from now on. Man City are very good.
haha come on RWAEB... the inverted wingers not playing as inverted wingers is not the reason we're getting battered today. we've been on the back foot from 15 seconds due to a mistake, been destroyed by city's quality and seen performances from our players that can only be described as woeful.
Thanks for the thought, but we've been absolutely awful. Comical defending and no creativity in the final third.
Joe barton on twitter: "I'd destroy both the midfielders spurs have wasted money on and I'm a championship player. Albeit, an exceptional one".
Talk about a starry eyed optimist. We look like we could play the Little Sisters of the Poor for a week and not put one past them.
Good analysis Eveyone keeps going on about our lack of scoring and wants an end to the inverted wingers or a switch to 442 We've tried both in this game and its a disaster. We're doing much better now we've gone back to plan A Leave AVB alone and let him stick to his system and give it time to work. He has still had the best start of any Spurs manager.
Don't worry Power, his fabulous attacking system will gel soon and we will eat humble pie and enjoy having our Spurs back.
The problems are not about today... 1..1..0...2...1...0...2...1...1...0...0...0 thats our scoring record in our 12 prem matches this season ... 9 and 3 were pens Chadli, Lamela, Soldado, paulinio and erikson cost a combined £94m...all are attacking options...avb is responsible end of
I might quibble. From the first to the second goal we were on the front foot for the most part. That was the stage when I thought Lamela's losing the ball in the final third really hurt us. I'll grant you, the clamoring for inverted wingers will be, at most, subdued, not to say nonexistent.
This has the feel of the beginning of 2011-12 (the Mancs in succession) . Difference is that I doubt AVB can lift his squad to go on a similar run afterwards.
Lamela has been ****e. not because he's been on the left, but just because he's been ****e. Lennon, even at 2-0 looked far more comfortable on the right and he and Walker were working well out there until we capitulated.
We don't need a fabulous attacking system we need to a manager who can get a few % extra out of a squad that is almost bound to be worse than at least 3 others due to their resources
"I thought that earlier! it's like Deja Vu." We can but hope (starting with 20 pts rather than zero is a start)
We need a manager who can get us top four with players who aren't top four quality. I agree with that.
