If you won't an un-biased assessment of our performances, just read up on westlondonsports, Dave Mc doesn't do Rangers praise unless it's due, and today he said we easily won and deserved all 3 points.

In short very very easy win as we were in 3rd gear throughout
Looked like a training game at times
Very quiet QPR crowd but we kept the ball very well
A fair score would have been 4-0 IMO
but we make it really hard at times
Great to meet boys in pub

Worst gave of football Ive ever seen that ended up with 3 points, this topped the infamous Paul Hart game that got him sacked.

We started with an attempted 4231 with Jenas the furthest forward. Charlton were terrible and had come for a 0-0, didnt threaten at all apart from a long shot swerving all over the place.

at HT, Jenas reinjured his hamstring (what a shock!) and on comes Karl ****ing Henry, that idiot in charge was trying to defend a 1-0 against an awful side that made us look potent. This nullified an excellent Philips because we went 451, then bought Charlton into the game and we were lucky not to concede a goal against a side that could barely get into our half earlier.

We joked that the only way he could get more negative was to bring on SWP, guess what happened next...

Then after 35 mins Redknapp has finally realised what I could have told him even before he bought on Henry, that we needed someone further forward. He brings on Johnson and we then proceed to look ok and see the game out.

As I said, the worst win ive ever seen, Redknapp is so underperforming with this side that should be hitting 4 or 5 against Charlton but he is the (irony alert) most negative manager weve ever had.

People who didnt witness that will say shut up, we won and are equal top, people who saw that tripe will agree. Surely no one can be happy having to watch that crap where there wasnt a single quality chance created all game and it took a goal of the season contender to score.

So i take it wasn't a match of the season then bully boy. I have mixed felings about this season because on the other hand arry has managed to get us joint leaders after 16 matches with 35 points. Then again we havent score over two goals !!! in a match during those sixteen matches with the players we have. I know we are on our route to prem but something bothers me too.........

In something like 40 matches under Redknapp, weve scored 0 or 1 goals 29 times, more than 2 goals.........once.

Its worse than Sousa or Hart, the only difference is the players are now better so they can overcome Redknapps awfulness.

Sorry Flyer but it wasn't that bad
We were playing well belowdecks our potential IMO and it was a mismatch all over the park and we didn't finish off any of the many good moves

First half there was excellent approach play only to finish in a poor cross

The match was worth just to watch BAE

I said in the pub we.need to get you a lady of the night x

utter nonsense. We were very comfortable most of the afternoon while looking like we were in 2nd gear. Charlton rarely, rarely threatened but when it's only 1 - 0 it always feels a bit jittery. having said that..agree about the tempo. it's very patient and sometimes lacks a bit of urgency.

Have to agree - simply not that bad. We just lack a bit of urgency at times so it sometimes feels a bit dull. I thought Henry played well to be honest. Very solid. Overall decent, can't complain really.

Henry did his job well and bossed the game 2nd half IMO

I have to say that there is something odd at LR and reading Flyers unhappy remarks I think it's about the atomsphere and vibe ... It stinks and it isn't QPR of old

Agree totally with Big Chaz and Dave (Gettit :) )

I thought we totally dominated and didn't really get out if second gear. Can't really think if any clear cut chances they had to be honest (not saying they didn't have any), and for us, O'Neil and SWP could of, and probably should if, put it to bed.
Thought Charlton were very poor and lacked any attacking edge. Can see them going down with Yeovil TBH.

Their goalie also didn't need to make a good save. We were only a 30 yarder away from everyone moaning that we didn't create a single great chance against a terrible side.

On every other forum I've read, there's a thread saying how boring a bad we are.

Bringing on henry at ht was like Man u trying to hold onto a 1-0 at home for 50 mins against palace or hull.

    Very unfair on SWP

He played very well yesterday, constantly closing down Charlton on our left. Made an excellent tackle in our box on their no 23 (who then moaned as if he'd been felled by Hill rather than a player half his size), and very much deserved a goal for his jinking run and chipped shot that came off the bar having well beaten Hamer in the Charlton goal

As for the Charlton fans chanting that BWP is better than SWP, BWP clearly couldn't cut it in the Championship so legged it to the US!

I thought it was ok but we could have ended up with a 1-1 result which would have not been indicative of the game. I still feel that we are just not pushing forward enough. Yesterday we had more than 60% possession but a lot of that was passing the ball about in our half. In particular, I thought O Neil for all his workrate seems to have little real awareness of his team mates locations and often spends time on the ball looking backwards and inevitably passing backwards. Barton, again, in my opinion was MoM. He was badly challenged a few times too and showed no reaction.

We're going to bore our way back to the PL. Austin's cracker apart, that game was hard to watch.

Anyone trade our points and position for entertainment and 3-2 losses?...

I thought not. I'll endure more of the same if it gets us back up and so will you...

Says it all. Why should we have to endure boring football? 18 goals in 16 games - only 6 teams in this league have scored fewer. What happened to Redknapp the entertainer?

I don't like Harold much and have egg all over my face … but credit where it's due he is getting us playing good possession football and after a few years of giving the ball away cheaply … to me it's bloody brilliant that we are controlling matches now … exactly the right base to build on for the step back up… i see that now as we shouldn't repeat anything from our time in the top tier apart from bring back AT and Remy … Ali fit again those three on this base will be great to watch until then i can only take my hat off to Harold as Henry and clan gives us a chance to win any game at this level.

We go up then Barton, Dunne, Green, Simpson may be the only ones who survives the changes i believe will happen

Have been very busy since the match finished so I haven't had a chance to get on here. Quite interesting reading the differing opinions on the performance.
    Here's my take on it:

For me, Harry isn't getting the balance of the side quite right, but he is severely handicapped by our continuing injury problems. We started in a 4-2-3-1 with Krancjar on the left of the 3 with Phillips on the right and Jenas behind Austin. Barton and O'neill were the 2 sitting, but neither are natural in that position imo.
Austin's goal was fantastic and we deserved to win against a very poor Charlton side...........BUT...........we must find a way of getting the play further forward and get more players up to help Austin.
It was turgid stuff at times and we kept possession along the half way line and continually turned back and sideways. Any time we did make forward runs we had Charlton in all sorts of trouble. Krancjar was awful, again. He looks so unfit and slower than Hill. Time and again he either got caught in possession or gave a hospital ball to a team mate. He is never a wide player imo. SWP was much better in that position when he came on. Jenas linked the play well for the first 20 mins but then faded, presumably due to his recurring injury. If we're going to play Krancjar, play him in behind Austin. That would be easier to do though when Hoilett is fit.

All in all it was quite a frustrating watch and most around us were moaning that we don't attack enough. Hopefully when we get Hoilett back we can attack down both flanks, but we will still need to get players up to support Charlie. I don't like 4-4-2 but I must admit that I think we would have hammered this poor Charlton side with AJ starting up top with Austin. In that formation though, Henry would need to start. Somehow we need to get more balance, but hey............we're joint top of the league. But that's mainly down to us being so difficult to score against.

    Player ratings and comments:

Green - 7 - Nearly a "Green moment" when he struggled to deal with a long shot in the first half, but he recovered well to block the follow up shot (although the player was offside).
Simpson - 6 - Got forward well, but never seems too sure what to do when he gets there. Looked a little dodgy when the ball was played in behind him.
Hill - 8 - Simply immense and faultless display.
Dunne - 7 - Solid, although he missed a couple of headers. Broke down in the warm up so we were surprised to see him start.
BOE - 8 - Absolute class. He never gets out of 2nd gear and yet looks so in control. One brilliant turn to lose players in the first half.
Barton - 6 - Worked hard, but not as good as of late. Gave the ball away too often.
O'Neill - 6 - Also worked hard and linked the play well at times. Should have scored in the first half or at least should have hit it better.
Krancjar - 4 - Terrible. Unfit and dreadfully slow. A couple of nice touches but we should be getting so much more from this supposed "creative master".
Jenas - 6 - Linked the play quite well early on, but just SO injury prone.
Phillips - 7 - Looked a threat, especially in the first half. I just wish he'd take his full back on more!
Austin - 8 - Worked tirelessly with little support and scored a cracker from 25 yards which swerved into the corner.

    Subs:

Henry - 6 - Did his job sitting in front of the back four.
SWP - 7 - Looked lively and was so unlucky with a clever chip that hit the bar following a typical dribble that left a couple of players in his wake.
AJ - 6 - Looked very lively as usual.

Agree BOE, how the hell did we sign him. He would grace most Premiership teams, absolutely brilliant!
