...Rewind a year, and the mood in and outside Anfield was as miserable as an evening with Gary Neville. Rafa had left, The owners where lining their pockets while lumping more debt on the club, and the exodus of players, was expected on the line's of what Moses did.We where looking at players who where either free, or bargin basement buys, and tried to convince ourselves they'd be good enough for the club. The media rubbed their hands in glee as they got stuck into the mess that was Liverpool FC. Fast Forward one year. We now have owners, who want to take the club forward. A clear, defined plan of developing talent and buying only high quality younger players. Rafa maybe gone, but now the King has returned, a man as much a part of Liverpool as any of her other favorite son's. Player's been linked are not bargin basement specials, we are looking at quality additions for the first time in years...All in all there is a real optimisim about the club, a feel good factor long missing has returned..And all can see the club moving forward...Success next season will be getting back into the champions league spots and maybe a domestic cup. WHAT no title you cry? I think we are still going to be a little short in comparison to City and Chelsea. But what a difference a year makes..Wonder what'll happen in the next 12 months?
I know mate it's incredible. The whole experience of the year before last and the first half of last season has certainly made me more humble as a fan. The pit of despair was incredible - i'v never been there before as a fan (close with England), and I never want to go there again. I think the whole experience has made us stronger as a club. The fans are now a little less forceful, and we now have good owners at the club who know its values and are willing to adhere to them, whilst contributing financialy. I think it says it all that I bought my first Liverpool shirt in a few years last season and wore it everywhere. We do not die!! Good times ahead I think!
You're saying you'll be short of Man City and Chelsea to the title but don't mention the other title challengers Man Utd and Arsenal.
I think we're more likely to be short of Man Utd than City, whose manager I still don't rate - his managerial style was good enough for a 4th place finish, but to win the league they can't be as negative away from home as they were last season anyway Arsenal are difficult to predict so it's impossible to say whether we'll be short of them or not - of the top 4 they are the most vulnerable
The IncREDibles The only thing i worry about Arsenal is that everybody seems to write them off each season in regards to the title and top 4, every year Whinger seems to get them CL football. I do agree though, if they lose Fabregas and Nasri then they're ging to struggle to stay in the top 4.
Wow you lot are thick. This article suggests that the OP thinks Liverpool will be short of Man City and Chelsea to the title but doesn't mention Man Utd or Arsenal, suggesting that those 2 won't be challenging for the title and Liverpool will be ahead of them. I was asking do you really think that and why. Can't believe I have to spell it out for you.
You've just proven that in fact, you are thick. We obviously knew what you were asking - but fail to see the relevance compared with the initial point of the article. If you read closely and perhaps take a few minutes (or hours in your case) to analyse it, we're talking about getting into the top 4; not challenging for the title which we expect Man Utd to do.
The article said: No mention of being short of Man Utd or Arsenal in the title race, which suggests you don't think either of those will be challenging for the title. Idiot. You see a Man Utd fan on your board and throw a hissy fit
Seriously, why do Utd fans think a Liverpool fan, posting on a Liverpool board, has to pander to their obviously delicate sensibilities? The OP has no need to justify what he says to you. Amazing though it may seem to you, we think of our own club most of the time- not yours.
Nope, what I see is an insecure fool jumping up and down shouting "we are the bestest team ever so please pay my team some attention and by my associating with them some of that lovely attention will be reflected on me" Just the impression I got!
Yes that's why I asked about Arsenal as well I was asking if the OP really doesn't think that Arsenal and Man Utd will be up there challenging and if they really do think Liverpool will finish above those two. No need to throw a ****ing fit about a simple question.
Jeez - GCSE English a little too advanced for you was it? There is an inferance to be read in the OP's post that Man U are the ones being 'challengED', and therefore their title will be 'challenged', by the challengERS, City and Chelsea. There is no dismissal of either ManU or arsenal, as their position as challengERS for the title are unstated truths. WUMs are also challengED, but in a different sense of the word.
