I'd only recommend watching if you're bored.

Popping zero dark thirty on now.

This Is The End. Pretty funny, I enjoyed it.

Disconnect. Film about social media/online, didn't know about this film until it was on sky movies, but I thought it was really good.

Rewatched Be Kind Rewind last night. Wont have you holding your sides howling with laughter but it's a pleasant enough comedy and the music's good (Fats Waller).

    Fair Game.

Not Sean Penn's finest hour (and a half).

Life of Pi: Read the book years ago and to be honest I could not remember how it ended which was good because the film is absolutely fantastic and if I had remembered how it ended it may have spoiled it for me...a bit.

Every scene is like an oil painting, stunningly visualised. Funny, utterly compelling and thought provoking. One of the best movies I have watched in a long, long while.

It's full of holes both in the plot and the script. It's the sort of tripe which appeals to a US audience and Oscar commitees in particular. Imho

I don't know what specific holes you have in mind but there are many parts in this film where the lack of specificity is actually intentional and serves a purpose. My guess is some of that stuff is where you had issues.

In my opinion, the screenplay Oscar was well deserved because it managed to say so much without spelling it out in heavy-handed emotional scenes, relying on the power of brevity and atmosphere instead.
