Very exciting times mate Won't be getting my hopes up 'till he's wearing that red jersey and putting in them beast challenges though
I agree, if you look at our midfield (Gerrard not included) we have: Lucas, Henderson, Allen.. None of them can play in Gerrard's position (to the same extent), no wonder he looks jaded. Too heavily relied on, we need to start giving him some rest.
Bang on. We need someone of real quality, and well known if we can. Lucas is good but not brilliant, Henderson I really like and has earned his place as a good squad player, Allen is wasted number currently and Gerrard is still very good going forward but his selection compromises us defensively. The players around him aren't good enough to cover this flaw. Thus we need someone of high calibre.
I used to always sign Coutinho and Sakho on football manager before we signed them. I also used to sign M'Vila on occasion. Sure sign he's on his way
I've previously signed Babel, Torres, Sturridge and Moses before they all signed... ...But I did also used to sign Kompany, Moussa Sissoko, Jesus Navas, Oscar, Hazard, Turan, Marcelo all the time on FIFA games. (Although M'Vila is one I've signed on my previous 3 FM games, so I think it's a sure sign too).
I'll take M;Vila and Diame so we can actually boss some teams around in midfield. Oh and put Coutinho at no 10 and tell him to do his thing, knowing you have protection and cover (along with bursting runs by Diame).
Haven't seen the game yet as I was out and about, I listened to the 2nd half on the radio but it was hard to tell how we were playing it sounded like a mix of good and bad. Will watch the 1 hour highlights on Sky later.
Gerrard does not have the energy he had a few years ago. It would be great to play him flat out for say 60mins and then have a decent replacement, but we don't so he has to play full games and it is beginning to show. We need to sign a decent midfielder in January who can be a long term replacement for him.
Looking forward to watching MOTD later A point away to Everton is never a bad result, let's just hope we can get all three next week against Hull
Hahahahahaha!!!!! Just seen MoTD and I was right. For all Martinez's moaning about Gerrard moving the free kick five yards forward -so did Baines for their first goal.
Is it me or was the free kick that led to Lukaku's goal not actually a free kick? Lucas won the ball in my opinion.. Still should have cleared the ball better though
Martinez - He closed his eyes and looked away as he made the challenge. Ahhhh right, so that makes it not a red card I'll remember that one then Think you'll find that deserves a red card even more then as it's a cowards challenge.
Fantastic game, but you've got to say that Martinez just doesn't cover himself in glory in his aftermatch interviews. He has every right to insist Everton should have won (maybe they did), but over Mirallas, and the crack about Gerrard moving the free kick, he's been shown up to be Mourinho-ish in his one-eyed bitterness. Pity, as it looks like the ****e are playing their best football for years.
