From the small interaction I have had I think the mood is it is a big fuss about something which is relatively unimportant .It is basically a ffs moment"have we not got anything serious to worry about-like the survival of our team that plays at the KC in amber and black. When people talk about preferring the champ to the prem-seeing us win -I wonder if we have been following the same team for the past half century. We have been rubbish for a good chunk of that and an impartial observer would remind us that the standard of football has been dire from us and the oppo.It was not brilliant in the lower leagues.Look at our crowds.People voted with their feet.If we had not got promoted I would have thought our crowds would be working their way down to10,000 by now .AA has engineered our success.I think he is well capable of engineering our catastrophic demise if people hurl abuse at him.One bloke tried to start a chant of Allam Out(in E1).Thank Fick no one joined in
I want Hull City to play in Europe to ram it down all those Liverpool and Leeds United supporters from Hull. I liked wining in the championship but winning at St James' Park was even better. Assem Allam has put us nearly £80 million in debt (mainly to himself) and we need to find alternative income sources. We all know we want a striker but that will take the debt even higher. He could sit down with Brady and discuss extending the KC and putting up an hotel to bring us more income. He doesn't even when the door is open. He could have an open discussion with the fans about how to bridge the funding gap. Instead he says its my business if you don't like it have your money back. The majority, I'd say vast majority, of City fans in the KC today want survival and success. Why doesn't he ask for some help? I've seen people go from singing his praises to privately hating him. I've seen other people who are passionate about watching City play to feeling like its a duty. All because its his business and he can do what he wants. Its not a great leap from there to why bother singing. There are too few singers to start with without losing the ones we have. I see the potential we have and he's turning his back on it simply because he thinks he can convince some people in Asia that giving money to Hull Tigers is better than giving it to The Tigers. Well, I think its a pipe dream and not worth giving our name up for until he asks us properly. But we all know what the result of a ballot would be.
But that's the problem... City "fans" that can only sing when it comes to creating some aggro towards the owner. Yet they shut the **** up when we're struggling to score or concede. SAD
Both sides think if they are stubborn enough it will pay off. Meanwhile they may destroy our season and club. this IS a distraction. It may have been started by AA but it doesn't means CTWD have to aggravate the situation. They think they are being heroes meanwhile they may contribute to our downfall and what should be an exciting season for the club. If I was AA I wouldn't buy anyone in January because these ungrateful ****s don't deserve it.
Unfortunately that's the way it has always been when most of the crowd turn up expecting an easy win. I'm sure the atmosphere will be better next weekend when everyone knows the team needs all the encouragement we can give.
Same problem we've had for years. At least they are now singing. I don't see how City Till I Die and the other City songs we sing can be seen as anything else apart from getting behind the team. I accept "We said no" is an exception. If you don't like the atmosphere do something about it. Before you reply. I sat behind the goal in the South Stand singing, mainly with my wife on our own, for two seasons. We had a few small successes, but they were small. In the second half the mood was flat even in the North east corner, don't you think being told you're not wanted, here have you're money back had something to do with it? Especially when the performance on the pitch was flat as well.
I don't really understand why some struggle to realise the deadlock situation here. EVEN if you got 100,000 people to try and make AA back down... it won't work because he's made his ****ing mind up and it's his £50million. So all you're doing is breaking the club apart, dividing camp, pissing off the owner. and also has anyone considered what would happen IF AA backed down. DO you really think this can all be forgotten now? DO you really think he will want to spend anymore of his money? with his pride swallowed? I don't really get how ANYONE following CTWD can think this can end well. I am pretty convinced that non of the simple-minded banner wavers have thought of the consequences. I'm guessing if the club is in the ****ter, they'll just blame AA. "He started it..." How mature.
The issue will never go away, if Mr. Allam thinks we will eventually get used to it he's mistaken. Does he expect us to stop using City in songs or chants? How can all the fans get behind the team when the songs use words that are apparently being banned or covered up?
You could change AA and CTWD in every sentence and look at it from the opposite side. Perhaps you should write to him with the same plea.
You don't know what you're on about. I doubt you know who any of them even are. I know a lot of them and they really aren't the West Upper old-timers you seem to think they are. No one will be banned for having a flag and refusing to give it to stewards. This post somehow got a dislike. The 'CTWD', 'We're Hull City' and 'We say no Allam' chants today were the loudest this season. How can anyone doubt the CTWD contribution to atmosphere? Agreed but that's a separate debate. There is nothing at all wrong with protesting against this. It isn't dividing the fans because everyone agrees the name change is bullshit. Today proved that once and for all. It's not detracting from supporting the team it's the opposite, the support for the team today increased as a result of the protest.
Shame I hoped we would reinforce in Jan to aid survival.Hope you guys put the millions necessary to give us a fighting chance. Oh no you will not .
fully agree - in fact he's not even offering peoples money back - what is it the cost of a season ticket , say £390 less 6 x £30 for each game so far - so around £200 back for 14 games which include the Liverpool Chelsea, Man U, Arsenal, Man City, Tottenham which he will get at least £30 for each - he's offering absolutely nothing, in fact its a cheap gimmick to try and make a point but also one which will make him some money - his stance on this issue is affecting the team and affecting on field performance - but as many say on this board, it's his money so he can do what he likes
