    We're far too good to be anywhere near the bottom, but, be it bad luck or whatever, I think there's too many strong teams for us to trouble the top two this season too much either. Our luck must change soon though!

    "Watford huffed and they puffed but they just couldnt blow down the Bolton wall... lots of beautiful football..... Bolton forcing Watford to come thought the middle.... not a clear cut chance in the second half.... "

    I still do not believe that FF is a striker who will get many goals for us in a season. Great to watch, loads of effort, but to rely on him for the goals is unfair. Many have said we need more power up front and I would agree.

    Another freak incident goes against us. Ah well, plenty of time left in the season, no need to get too panicky. I also believe we won't trouble the top two positions but I still think we'll get in the play-offs. All it takes is for a few positive results and a team can go shooting up the team. Zola needs to start to learn his best XI soon though, all this chopping and changing doesn't help too much I believe.

    I am not sure we can accuse him of chopping and changing today. Injuries to Anya, Doyley, Angella, Deeney, Abdi and suspension for McGuigan forced our hand a bit!

    What happened to this 'stronger than than last season' squad? Poor game between two poor teams, in my opinion. Without the error it had 0-0 written all over it.

    The Pozzo's have sacked 9 Udinese managers in 9 seasons and 5 Granada managers in 5 seasons.

    Despite changing managers Udinese and Granada are both stuck in mid-table. I think that one or two different type of player is required in January. Seems to me that we are a lightweight team and need a bit more muscle in mid-field and up-front. Seems as if Hogg despite his limitations has not been replaced with a similar player and I think we are missing him.

    Which is one of the reasons I am deeply worried at the moment. I appreciate that there were key players missing, and no I'm not dumb enough to want Zola replaced, but the players that went out there this afternoon looked clueless.

    I listened to 3 counties on the way back from the match and I have to say that I didn't agree with much of Derek Payne's analysis TBH.

    Agree Bloother - I listened to the whole game on 3CR and Payne just kept on going on about us trying to walk the ball in the net and why did we not shoot, but I suspect that there was not a clear shot as Bolton had filled the box and just sat back. With no out and striker and our continued lock of width, there is not much you can but try and find an opening. I got fed up with him in the end I switched off and listened to some music.

    That was a dreadful game to watch with very little to recommend it from either side. Thorne made a decent start as a defensive midfielder, looking alert and got himself involved. Otherwise midfield looked desperately short of confidence. Batocchio barely got in the game and McEachran looks as though he doesn,t want the ball. Add that to neither wing back getting forward effectively and a lightweight pair up front and a hatful of goals was never likely. More worrying is the lack of leadership and dynamism on the field when things aren,t going well. John Eustace, where are you when we need you?

    I have always wondered about Payne.... seems old school... and of course we are in another game at Watford this era

    AGREE

    <yikes>
